Addressing army shortages will require spending / investment - would the Daily Mail support a wealth tax, perhaps, to raise money to address the problem? 4. Earlier this week, the Daily Mail front page complained that Rachel Reeves’s budget would cost the economy £10 billion. Today the Daily Mail complains that there is not enough government spending on Defence. The contradiction is fairly obvious. 5. The Daily Mail supports unfunded Tory tax cuts and tax avoidance schemes for multi millionaire land-owners - so who do they think is going to pay for the required defence spending? 6.
