Truckload spot rates hit new all-time high: this is not SCOTUS related, it is compliance crackdown + reindustrialization. We are week into SCOTUS and this is what we've learned (all over the board tbh): - Large brokers tell us they are getting more commitments from shippers, not less. Shippers are concerned that they are next and want protection. - Managed trans appears to be a massive winner. - Some shippers are reevaluating small carriers (due to compliance risks and cost) and looking to move more freight through large brokers, not less. While others have stopped loading brokers altogether. - Large shippers are already evaluating their brokers for financial viability and requesting larger insurance policies. - Asset-carriers tell us that what eats them alive isn't the big lawsuits, but the very small claims and wonder if brokers will be pulled into the small claims that are handled outside of insurance, which could result in 1-2 claims/1000 loads. At a cost of $20k each, that could result in $20-40/load just in administrative costs of dealing with small claims. - Insurance costs are going up for brokers, but no one really knows how much. Ranges we are hearing is 3-10x. - Conditional safety rating is really difficult for small carriers due to the slow resolution of those ratings at the FMCSA, which is overwhelmed and under resourced - We had our first lawsuit involving a large broker that was previously thrown out under summary judgement amended to include the freight broker

Mounting Pressure on NCBA AIG Over Stalled Insurance Claim for Mombasa Firm Customers of Mombasa-based Savy Company are raising alarm over unfulfilled services and an unsettled insurance claim that has left the firm struggling to resume operations. Savy, which had introduced community-focused initiatives such as a crowdfunding platform for persons with disabilities, a tree-planting challenge, and a real-time tree tracking system, has been unable to deliver on its promises. Customers say the company has remained inactive, with no clarity on when the pledged services will materialise. The situation worsened on August 4, 2024, when a fire broke out at Savy’s offices, causing extensive electrical damage and rendering the firm unable to operate. Despite holding a general insurance policy with NCBA AIG to cover such losses, the company is yet to receive compensation, hindering its ability to recover. Efforts to engage the insurer have reportedly been met with silence, prompting customers to demand action from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA). They have issued a three-day ultimatum, expiring on Friday, for NCBA AIG to settle the claim. “We expect a prompt resolution,” said one frustrated customer. “If Savy does not receive compensation, how will they deliver the services they promised us? This delay is unacceptable.” With mounting pressure from affected clients, attention now turns to NCBA AIG and the IRA’s response to the growing outcry.

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon reveals that the massive medical bill totals insurance companies send to you are really “fictitious numbers” that don’t represent real money anyone is being paid He just did a surgery for a patient, the insurance company said the procedure cost $170,000. The patient gets a bill and thinks that’s coming from the doctors office, it’s not The bill is coming from the insurance company, on the $170,000 bill for the surgery his office only gets paid $2,000 So he says none of this makes any sense because none of these huge bills are actually ever paid to anyone “The procedure was approved by insurance and it led to, according to their billing statements, $170,000 claimed. The total hospital billing for which our practice was reimbursed, $2,000. So just amazing, the bizarre discrepancy. And where does the rest of it all go? Fortunately, you know, this patient doesn't account for nearly that amount for their payment because their insurance does cover a significant portion of that as well as it not actually total billed to that amount. But it just illustrates some of the madness that there is in healthcare billing practices, because one, nobody knows what the bills are before we do them, including doctors. We have no idea And then patients get this astronomical number that is really kind of a fictitious number that doesn't get represented by real money that anyone collects” This sounds like a racket and outright fraud. How do the insurance companies getting away with it

🇬🇧 Most British schoolchildren are taught about Magna Carta. They are taught it was sealed in twelve fifteen at Runnymede. They are taught it is the foundation of English liberty. They are taught it is one of the most important documents in human history. They are not taught what came next. They are not taught about the eighty years between twelve fifteen and twelve ninety-five when ordinary Englishmen forced three successive kings to write down, for the first time in any kingdom in medieval Europe, what English law was, what English liberty was, and how an English king must govern. They are not taught about the Charter of the Forest, which restored the right to graze, gather firewood, and live on common land, and which remained in force for seven hundred and fifty-four years. They are not taught about the Provisions of Oxford in twelve fifty-eight, often called England's first written constitution, which placed the king under a council of fifteen and required Parliament to meet three times a year. They are not taught about the Provisions of Westminster in twelve fifty-nine, which subjected the barons themselves to the same law they had forced upon the king. They are not taught about Simon de Montfort, an earl born in France who died for England, who summoned the first Parliament in English history to include ordinary commoners alongside the great lords. They are not taught about the Statute of Marlborough in twelve sixty-seven, which is the oldest piece of statute law in the United Kingdom still in force today. ⚖️ Seven hundred and fifty-nine years old. If you've ever taken a debt to court in England, you've used it. 🏠 If you've ever rented a home, you've been protected by it. 👑 If a creditor can't lawfully drag your possessions into the street to settle what you owe, that's because of a law signed seven hundred and fifty-nine years ago. They are not taught about the Model Parliament of twelve ninety-five, summoned by Edward the First, which became the shape of every English Parliament since. Eighty years. Three successive kings. The first written constitution in any kingdom in medieval Europe. It was not given to them. It was not handed down from God or king or Pope. ✍️ It was written. By Englishmen. For England. 🇬🇧 The British write their own history. They always have. This one needed more than a thread. The full story is in our video, watch it below 👇 Help us remember who we are. Help us remember every British achievement. 👇🙏 👉 👈 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧
