Gabapentin. Steer clear.

My doctor prescribed it, but I never took it.

Excuse me, cholesterol is NOT bad. Sugar and inflammation is bad.

I agree 👍

Interesting, And what happens if you decline these medications ? Well, your physician will most likely mark you as uncooperative, and many other false degrading comments in your medical records and you’ll have difficulty finding another physician. Accept, but don’t fill scripts

Just say NO, I told my doctor I wouldn’t take statin. No big deal.

Fluoroquinolone antibiotics are the number one medication I would avoid. Unfortunately, I did not. Half of this class has been taken off the market and there is a black box warning of permanent multi-system damage and disability. And yet meds like Cipro and Levaquin given daily.

Cipro is bad also

Back in the good old days normal cholesterol was 350 and nobody had dementia or Alzheimer’s

Don't give a list of ones not to take without offering an alternative that's natural to replace or your just another alarmist.

99% of pharmaceutical drugs are poison.

I wouldn't and don't take anything big pharma makes

As a pharmacist my list of drugs to avoid at all costs is long. It would include Statins and PPI's for the same reasons stated above. I would add triptans to the list of drugs to be very wary of. They work rapidly to relieve migraines, but there's almost always a steady increase in their usage as the frequency of headaches and migraines increases with increased triptan use. I have so many patients that eventually end up taking triptans every other day just in order to function normally, not realizing that these drugs cause MOH (Medication overuse headaches). The ones I've managed to convince to cope through a withdrawal of triptans do not stop thanking me for giving them back their lives. As for semaglutide, the Ozempic and Wegovy drug. I'm expecting this drug to be withdrawn at some point in the future. I'm seeing so many gastro issues with them, pancreatitis, gall bladder issues. And then there's the eye issues, thyroid cancer risk. You have to ask yourself is it worth it? Another drug to watch out for are the biphosphonates used to prevent osteoporosis and fractures. Lots of nasty side effects including gastrointestinal issues, musculoskeletal pain, osteonecrosis of the jaw (rare but serious) and wait for it... atypical femur fractures. Last but most important for me as a pharmacist, I would not recommend a single vaccine on the market today because I believe in "First do no harm". Vaccines are exempt from adequate safety testing stating ethical reasons as an excuse. They have never been proven safe and on the contrary I have witnessed far too many casualties of these unsafe biological products in my over 40 year career. Many more to add, but I will stop here for now.

I'm good on the last two, but with constant pain, I wouldn't last long without ibuprofen or something similar. Someone mentioned gabapentin as bad. I'm 50/50 on that one. The VA doesn't prescribe opioids anymore, even at low dose, so I'm stuck.

So what do you recommend for pain from severe RA

Gabapentin is on my sh*t list. My mother took that. made her into a walking dementia brain. It helped with her pain but after losing her house, I'd say no to that one. My aunt takes it and she's fine, shakes a lot but apparently it's different for everyone ?

Cholesterol is not the problem. Ppl with “ high” cholesterol usually live longer and are more healthy.

It used to be 300 until they lowered it to 200 to push their statins

What would you recommend as a substitute for acetaminophen . I'm a veteran and sometimes have migraines

Tylenol and ibuprofen are both bad For my migraines, I take sumatriptan . Generic for a Imitrex.

@Woody148321 I don’t have migraines but I know that folks get them and I’m sorry anyone suffers with that! So is it doctor prescribed for the imitrex? Just incase.. thank you cali.. ❤️🙏

@Woody148321 Yes

Gave no alternative to statins

I refuse to take statins, and my doctor told me to take fish oil

If you have high cholesterol and it’s genetic diet won’t help so you can not take statins but your arterial plaque will build and then youre at risk of heart attacks and strokes. Statins are the one medication the majority of doctors take themselves because they understand the risks

I totally agree. FYI There have been lawsuits on all those meds and FDA warnings an example 👇you can look them up and see for yourself

What would you recommend instead of Omeprazole ?

I take PPI daily… for almost 20 yrs so far. I have a lot of stomach acid and extreme damage done from reflux. I go in for scopes every 2 yrs and have had my esophagus widened lol. The risk of taking them for me is less than not.. but not for most ppl.

Crap, I've taken Nexium for 15 years almost every day. Without it, I eat a bottle of Tums every week and am constantly miserable. Can't win!

Dame, I’ve been taken ibuprofen 800 three times a day, 15 years.

So what do you suggest for these three drugs?

At my recent Wellness Exam, I was looking over my PCP’s shoulder at my records and saw, in all capital letters, “NO STATINS”…..guess he finally got the message after trying for 7 years to get me to take one.

‘Heartburn’ might just be candida

@Rea1fun Thanks for sharing!

Over did it with naproxen and ibuprofen and my kidney suffered for it. Thankfully it was caught in time and my kidney is healing but this is why I never liked taking medicine of any kind in the first place.

Thank you for sharing Cali.. I love you! I listen to you a lot on here. ❤️🙏

Alternative to ibuprofen?

Thyroid medication’s, blood pressure medications, and SSRI medication’s?? What are side effects of the 3? & ohh, I’ve stopped all these including the statin!!

What should I take for arthritis pain? Naproxen works so well.

What can I take in place of the PPIs?? my omeprazole and my famotidine?? I can't live without them.... I know they've got me hooked but the heartburn is too terrible

Have you ever tried baking soda and water? Has to be this BS

@lLiverpoolLou

100% agree. You don't offer any alternatives, though. I have given the same advise hundreds of times on the first two, but the result is short-term suffering that isn't usually accepted. I wouldn't risk the third either, but is there any long-term use beneficial drugs that you sell?
