Love this breakdown, very succinct and clear. For 1, this can sometimes depend on at which level of emergence we're looking at things. No? Let's say I'm looking at a bunch of iron atoms, they're moving and I want to know when they will stop. Impossible to know based on just momentum. But if I know that they are part of a train going from Oxford to London, I can predict better that they will stop in London. (Putting aside the other factors that may make the train stop before London) Does that make sense?

When we finally meet super intelligent aliens ;) We will both say "Wow I never thought of that!"

@DavidDeutschOxf You’re right. But, “the future’ is too broad. Consider this future… A car drives off a cliff. Is it, in the future, going to fall down and crash at the bottom of the canyon? We don’t know for sure. A twister or a tornado might lift it aloft and accidentally set it down safely!

We can’t know anything “for sure”. As to the future, the claim is not “we can never know the future”, but rather there exist certain prohibitions on knowing it in certain circumstances (perhaps in almost all circumstances of interest to people).

I am going to eat some eggs this morning. I will bet you $5.

Free will exists.
