PH, Japan Showcase Unified Naval Might in Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) launched a new phase of defense cooperation with the successful conduct of the 2nd Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) on June 14, 2025, marking one of the first major joint activities following the recently ratified Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) between the Philippines and Japan. More than a maritime drill, the MCA underscored the operationalization of the RAA—an accord that lays the groundwork for increased joint training, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response (HADR) initiatives between the AFP and JSDF. This activity highlights the deepening trust and coordination between the two allies as they respond to traditional and emerging security challenges in the region. Participating Philippine assets included the BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG06), AW159 anti-submarine helicopter, PAF C-208 ISR aircraft, and Search and Rescue units. Meanwhile, Japan deployed the JS Takanami (DDG110) and an SH-60K Seahawk helicopter, demonstrating joint capability in a wide array of naval operations. The MCA featured key exercise serials such as communication check exercise, anti-submarine warfare exercise, cross-deck exercise, Division Tactics and Officer of the Watch Maneuvers (DIVTACS/OOW), Photo Exercises (PHOTOEX), and a Finish Exercise (FINEX), showcasing seamless interoperability between the two forces. AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr. emphasized the broader strategic significance of the exercise, “This cooperative activity is more than a display of maritime capability—it is a manifestation of our enduring commitment to uphold peace, stability, and a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific. With the RAA now in effect, our coordination with Japan will only grow stronger and more responsive to the complex demands of our shared security environment.” Photos and Videos by: PO3 Gonzales PN / PAOAFP A1C Castro PAF / PAOAFP JMSDF #AFPyoucanTRUST #OneAFPOnePhilippines #StrongAFPStrongPhilippines #OurSeasOurRightsOurFuture

What I find truly fascinating about China is their ability to employ deception, denial, and false narratives while projecting a facade of concern for regional stability. They excel at crafting statements and narrating events in a way that convinces others of their peaceful intentions and care for the marine environment. However, our commitment to transparency has effectively exposed their true actions and motives. Through compelling images and videos, we have consistently revealed the falsehoods behind their convincing lies. Our primary objective is to expose the truth and unveil their pretense, so that they come to realize that no amount of deceit can conceal their ambitious and greed-driven agenda of controlling the entire South China Sea. The findings of the Philippine Coast Guard, which confirm China's construction of artificial islands and extensive damage to the coral system, are supported by concrete evidence. China cannot simply dismiss these findings as disinformation, as we have documented the presence of their vessels in the area. It is widely known that China is the only country in the region that disregards environmental concerns. Furthermore, it is perplexing how a single Philippine Coast Guard vessel could provoke a response from over thirty maritime militia, three Chinese Coast Guard vessels, three PLA Navy warships, and three research vessels in Escoda Shoal. It is time to stop lying and be man enough to own your unlawful plans that is in progress.

#BreakingNews‌ A tragic aviation accident occurred today at Muan International Airport in South Korea. Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, arriving from Bangkok with 175 passengers and six crew members, veered off the runway during landing and collided with a fence, igniting a massive fire. Emergency responders have confirmed at least 28 fatalities, with rescue operations ongoing. Preliminary reports suggest a landing gear malfunction, possibly due to a bird strike, as the cause of the crash. South Korea's acting president, Choi Sang-mok, has ordered comprehensive rescue efforts. Footage of the incident is circulating on social media, showing the aircraft engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. Emergency services, including 32 fire trucks and several helicopters, were deployed to control the blaze and assist in rescue operations. Survivors have been pulled from the wreckage, and efforts continue to locate and aid others. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 737-800, registered as HL8088. Notably, this same aircraft had been involved in an emergency landing two days prior, on December 27, when it was diverted from Beijing-Daxing to Seoul-Incheon. This incident marks one of the most severe aviation disasters in South Korea in recent years. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash and to prevent future occurrences. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. #SouthKorea #PlaneCrash #BreakingNews #AviationAccident #JejuAir #Flight2216 #EmergencyResponse #Tragedy #AviationSafety #RunwayAccident #GlobalNews #airplanecrash

Statement of the Philippine Coast Guard “CCG ILLEGALLY BLOCKS PCG HUMANITARIAN MISSION” Today, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) undertook a humanitarian mission involving the BRP Cabra and BRP Cape Engaño, aimed at delivering vital food and supplies to our personnel stationed aboard the BRP Teresa Magbanua, on extended patrol in Escoda Shoal. Unfortunately, during this mission, the People's Republic of China (PRC) deployed an excessive force comprised of a total of forty (40) vessels including six (6) Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessels, three (3) People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) warships, in an attempt to obstruct our lawful humanitarian operation. There were also thirty-one (31) Chinese Maritime Militia (CMM) Vessels in the vicinity waters of Escoda Shoal. Such actions resulted in our two 44-meter Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRV) being unable to safely deliver essential supplies, including a special ice cream treat from the Commandant in honor of National Heroes’ Day. The PCG remains steadfast in our commitment to uphold national interests and ensure the safety and security of our waters. We urge the China Coast Guard to abide with the international law and stop deploying maritime forces that could undermine mutual respect, a universally recognized foundation for responsible and friendly relations among Coast Guards. The PCG recognizes that white hulls are unique instruments of diplomacy that promotes peace and maintain harmony and stability in the region.

PCG and BFAR Launch Floating Aggregate Device Operation in Support of Filipino Fishermen In alignment with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.'s vision to enhance government services for ordinary Filipinos, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in collaboration with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), successfully conducted a three-day Floating Aggregate Device (FAD) Laying Operation in Hasa Hasa and Kanduli Shoals. As of today, a total of 20 FADs have been strategically deployed in these areas, as identified by local fishermen. During the operation, a significant number of Filipino fishing boats actively participated in supporting the deployment of FADs, demonstrating the community’s commitment to enhancing local fisheries. The primary objective of this initiative is to bolster the livelihoods of Filipino fishermen by improving their fish catch, while also contributing to the national government's Kadiwa para sa Bagong Bayaning Mangingisda (KBBM) program, which aims to ensure a sustainable and affordable supply of fish. Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, deployed three 44-meter Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRVs) for the operation, while BFAR Director Elizer S. Salilig sent out the 5001 PCG-manned BFAR vessel and MV Mamalakaya. Throughout the operation, the PCG and BFAR faced radio challenges and dangerous maneuvers from four China Coast Guard vessels attempting to hinder the deployment of FADs. Our crew, especially the radio operators, responded with professionalism and composure, successfully maintaining our maritime presence with dignity and courage. The Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources remain steadfast in their mission to safeguard the livelihoods of our people, promote food security, and uphold our sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea, all in support of President Marcos’ vision for a Bagong Pilipinas!

“One of the most complicated hostage rescue missions in history.” The operation to rescue the hostages from Nusayrat was named "Summer Seeds" and is defined by the IDF as one of the most complex ever for hostage rescue. The hostages were held in a heavily civilian populated area, above ground, in buildings of 3-4 stories. The forces stormed the two separate targets where the hostages were held, with Noa held on the first floor and Andrey, Shlomi, and Almog on the third floor of another building, hundreds of meters apart. Hamas moved the four hostages from apartment to apartment, and the concern was that if the forces only stormed one building, the terrorists would escape with the hostages in the second building. The Air Force gathered intelligence from the air in the last few days, and the IDF and Shin Bet created conditions to reach the targets without the terrorists shooting the hostages first, which was key to the operation's success. The models built by the Yamam (Israel's counter-terrorism unit) reminded senior military officials of the models established for the Entebbe operation, with buildings, streets, and small areas for practice. The main problem was in the apartment where Andrey, Almog, and Shlomi were held, and where Yamam fighter Arnon Zamora was killed. The rescue took place under heavy fire, and during the disengagement, dozens of terrorists with RPGs and machine guns ran through the alleys towards the targets. As a result, uninvolved Gazan civilians were also killed in the dense fire exchange. The military said, "The difference between success and failure in such an operation is a hair's breadth, and we relied on exceptional technology from the Intelligence and Shin Bet. Without ground activity and maneuvering in the Gazan area, it would not have been possible to succeed in such operations." The IDF also noted that the rescue was made possible by Commander Zamora's heroism. "Shin Bet and Intelligence Directorate fighters entered the lion's den in the refugee camp and dismantled houses in areas where we hadn't maneuvered," they said. "This is bravery on the level of Judah Maccabee. The operation was planned for weeks with drills, rescue plans, and fires executed, alongside scenarios of cases and responses." The forces simultaneously broke into the two houses with special weapons developed for the operation. Immediately after extracting the hostages, the forces began to withdraw while fighting dozens of terrorists, but a vehicle with the three hostages got stuck and came under heavy fire. Division 98 forces jumped in to assist in the vehicle rescue battle, and rescue helicopters entered deep into the strip in daylight. Three brigades participated in the rescue battle, during which Zamora was also evacuated to the hospital: Brigade 7, Paratroopers, and Kfir with Flotilla 13, along with other special forces. "The fire plan that was executed was focused but extremely powerful," the IDF added. "The cooperation with Shin Bet and Yamam rose to several levels into a single operational system, under the direction of the Shin Bet chief and the Chief of Staff. Four keys to the operation: deception, surprise, determination, and power." To maintain the secrecy of the operation, thousands of soldiers in the brigades that participated in the rescue were unaware of the nature of the operation before it happened to preserve the element of surprise. Only a handful of commanders were exposed to the operation yesterday, at various levels. These forces were positioned at the correct launch points without revealing the secret. During the operation, soldiers were also lightly injured, mainly from shrapnel.
