(July 25, 2014) Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia - Builder captures moment bear lunged at him in attack 'that killed three people and a dog' Two others are believed to be in a critical condition after the attack which happened as they hid in a shed on the island of Sakhalin, east Russia. The video starts with what appears to be a playful stand-off between a bear cub and a dog, chasing each other backwards and forwards. During the exchange the workers can be heard laughing and another man is seen filming what is happening. Even when another bear, presumed to be the cub's sibling, appears the men continue talking and laughing. But then the mother bear appears behind both cubs and just as she starts growling and running towards the dog the camera cuts off dramatically. According to Russian media outlets three builders and a dog were 'torn to pieces' while the other two were hospitalised.
