2021

Lahaina, July 2023, I was there a month before the wildfire:

Democrat policies at work folks.

looks like a blue state

If only FEMA had cared about U.S. citizens as much as the illegals in NYC

Remember when residents were trying to flee and the police turned them around, back to the city?

What progress?

Such a tragedy...on many levels. I doubt I'll ever go back. I'd rather keep my memories. My heart goes out to the people.

When the liability for the Lahaina fire damage was capped by the state of Hawaii, it guaranteed two things: 1. Hawaii Electric Industries would generate more than $400m profits in 2025 and 2. Lahaina rebuilding would languish for years to come.

“Wildfire”

Rooting for Maui's recovery through sustainable rebuilding and native habitat restoration! Let's make it happen 🦋🌱🌍

Paradise, CA "Camp Fire" (2018) is only 40% rebuilt in 8 years. Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena in 18 months complete rebuilds running 0% to 1%.

Oh. I thought there was supposed to be a land grab or something??

I thought there were going to be resorts and theme parks and Oprah villages?

@AaronRigsbyOSC City and County dragging their feet on permits. Who’s paying them to slow walk it?

WNC is a similar story; unprecedented- fire vs water

It's coming back.

Türkiye de deprem oldu. Tam 450.000 deprem konutu 3 yılda vatandaşa devlet desteğiyle teslim edildi. Orada doğal afetlerde devlet desteği yok mu ?

A post comparing Lahaina before and after wildfire recovery.

The plan was Burn it down and let the government take the land

I still can’t believe it. It was such a beautiful place. It breaks my heart.

What a government can’t help their own, this is do sad!!!!

It breaks my heart that insurance companies move so slowly and do all they can to stop a community from rebuilding.

Doesnt look so bad. Kind of like Indonesia or the Philipines

Oh wow! That has been re-built at all. So sad for the residents

😔🙏🏾💔

So happy the Banyan tree still lives. I had planed for about a decade to spend at least 3 months a year in the Pioneer Inn, facing the Banyan tree, when I‘m old. But then all was gone, just at about one year before I wanted to stay the first time for 3 months. Still sad.

Where is FEMA?
