When you clean house at the top in the front office, it don’t make sense to bring in somebody who hasn’t had the success with the Bulls to keep them in place, you know, and then like if things don’t work out, who do you blame? KIDS: When you lose the puck, how hard are you willing to work to get it back? As a coach, I want you to make plays. I want you to be creative. I want you to play with no fear of making mistakes. The only stipulation I have is that when you try to make a play and you turn it over, you have to work like hell to get it back. Here's a great example from a team that MAKES A LOT OF PLAYS. Tampa turns it over in the Ozone and then watch the effort from the players to get it back. Hounds. They create another turnover and then get rewarded in transition. Coaches, amazing clip to show your teams!!

Bielsa admits he has never tried to be the “friendly” coach. He values order, discipline, seriousness, obsession. That has made him one of the most respected minds in football. But even Bielsa seems to accept something powerful here: That approach does not work for every player. It does not work in every environment. And knowledge alone is never enough. As a coach, you have to find a way to connect. Quote us on this: “You can have all the knowledge in the world, but it is absolutely useless if the people playing don’t like you. Player management and people management might not be on coaching courses, but don’t be kidded by associations. It is the most important quality a coach can have.” Football is about tactics, detail, preparation and standards. But above all, it is about people. The ocean off Cabo does not care how good of a swimmer you are and this video is proof - this guy jumped off the boat and that current grabbed him and made the swim back feel like it lasted a lifetime. You can see him fighting to get back and it is not until you watch it that you realize just how fast the water can take you somewhere you never planned to go. And let us not forget Cabo is known for shark activity in those waters - a rope, a float, anything thrown in the water at that moment could have been the difference between a story he tells and one nobody ever hears. The current alone was dangerous enough but being that far from the boat in open ocean water with everything swimming beneath the surface is a completely different level of risk that most people never think about until it is too late. Glad he made it back. Are you a good swimmer? That one could have gone a whole different direction.
