Right now the special education needs system is not working for too many children, too many parents and too many schools. The Government has tried to fix things but I fear that they have left parents with more questions than answers. Their changes will leave young people to the lottery of the system and place too much burden on teachers. We need to focus on real support for those who need it and start asking why the number of children with special education needs has increased so much in recent years.
