Through the Bastogne Streets 🦅 Yesterday, Screaming Eagles participated in the NUTS! Parade. This parade honors the veterans of the Battle of the Bulge and is named after GEN McAuliffe's famous response to the German request for surrender. #Bastogne81 #airassault U.S. Army Europe and Africa

@USArmyEURAF I have nothing but admiration for the 101st, but I hope they were able to march and keep pace better than the absolute disaster of the Army’s 250th parade!

@USArmyEURAF My uncle was at the Battle of the Bulge. I salute you and thank you for your service.

@USArmyEURAF Awesome! The sacrifice of these Soldiers should be honored for all time.

@USArmyEURAF Back in the day when the USA didn't abandon their allies...

@USArmyEURAF The greatest generation! Happy to see that these brave men are still being remembered.

@USArmyEURAF My Uncle is buried there. Fell in the last day. The locals take great care of his grave. Deep appreciation for that.

@USArmyEURAF That’s awesome NUTS

@USArmyEURAF Dad wasn't Airborne but was in Battle of the Bulge, Silver Star and Purple Heart. Rest in Peace dad. Could never sneak up on you. You carried that shrapnel in your thigh until the end.

@USArmyEURAF General McAuliffe's response was quintessentially American. So glad that he and the men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge are still honored. ❤️🇺🇸❤️

My grandfather, lost his leg serving in Company F, 36th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized), the light tank company of a unit attached to the 11th Cavalry Group. As a light tanker, he fought in the brutal winter of the broader Battle of the Bulge campaign. Their efforts were crucial to the overall Allied victory in the Ardennes. RIP Grandpa, and God bless this "Greatest Generation" of heroes🫡🇺🇸

@USArmyEURAF Thank you for liberating Europe. The efforts and sacrifices of the U.S. should not be forgotten. 🙏 ….

@USArmyEURAF My cousin Doug Hart, born in Saskatchewan, became an American citizen and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Like so many in his generation never spoke a word about it.

@USArmyEURAF An ANNUAL boondoggle? Pay yer own way if you wanna spend a week in Europe.

@USArmyEURAF Lest we forget

@USArmyEURAF Yes!!! You surrender American soldiers? Nuts!! Meaning hell no in American slang. I love this story. The Bastogne streets were not left. God bless the Screaming Eagles! 🙏🏼🧡💙🇺🇸🦅

@USArmyEURAF ♥️♥️♥️

@USArmyEURAF Men of great honor cannot long tolerate to serve under a Commander in Chief and Sec Def who have demonstrated through their character and behavior that they are without that quality essential to lead men.
