Don’t get me wrong this is nice to see, but however California is not accepting help from other states in the United States itself cause their vehicles don’t reach their “Enviromental efficiency standards”. That’s just beyond ridiculous and screams mismanagement.

This one is dedicated to all the mothers and sisters who’s sons and brothers won’t be lighting candles this Chanukah. We try to find the light of Chanukah this year in the darkness of tragedy and heart break. Our hearts once again united in pain, how do we move forward? We move forward with the infinite knowledge that we are the light. No matter how much darkness, the Jewish people will rise and shine through it just like the Menorah that shines through the destruction of the Temple. In the spirit of our ancestors, we draw down the light of ancient Maccabee warriors as we move forward into the light of Mosiach. #ancientchild #happychanuka #nowomannocry

“Don’t complain about the darkness. Be the light.” What this young man said is not only wise, it’s scriptural. Jesus didn’t tell us to curse the darkness. He told us to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. A candle doesn’t argue with the dark…. It simply shines. The Bible says, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:5 KJV) Anyone can point out what’s wrong with the world. The harder thing is to live differently. To love when others hate or to show grace when others rage. To speak truth when others lie and to reflect Christ in a culture that has forgotten Him. The world doesn’t need more people complaining about the darkness. It needs more obedient believers carrying the Light.

I’ve cried more times in the past 5 days than I have in the past 5 years. The pain that the Jewish family has gone through this week is unspeakable. And yet, I’ve never seen as much Jewish unity, strength, and connection in all my life. Listen to the words Ishay Ribo just sang to the IDF as they prepare for Shabbos: “Don’t be scared! Our Father is watching over us.” Good will always defeat evil; light will always vanquish darkness; truth will always prevail. The best is yet to come; and with Hashem’s help, the best part of this story will soon be written. Wishing you as meaningful, restful, and peaceful of a Shabbos as you can possibly have under the current circumstances. And always remember: In darkness, a small candle can illuminate an entire room… and a small light can illuminate the entire world. So if you can’t find the light in the darkness… become it.
