Taitague survived his injuries, was hospitalized, and is subsequently charged with first-degree murder. Bodycam footage and viral cellphone videos of the incident were widely released by police in mid-November 2024 .The evidence showed that a verbal argument in the parking lot escalated into a physical fight, during which 20-year-old Clayton Taitague obtained a firearm from a vehicle and shot 30-year-old Tyler Cochran nine times, killing him.
