Call of Duty players always acted like COD was a competitive game when it was just digital airsoft with guns that all feel the same, especially in "hardcore mode." Meanwhile, Halo was treated as a "casual" game, even though any decent Halo player would easily shit on COD players while the reverse wasn't true at all. In terms of mechanical skill, Halo just objectively has more going on, more moment-to-moment decisions to make, and a way higher skill ceiling than COD — much more thought is given to movement tech, positioning, choice of weapon, mind games, etc. Halo's higher average TTK requires the use of more advanced tactics to outplay your opponent. But more than that, Halo also gives much more power to the individual player by allowing to achieve faster kill times by being more accurate — because the weapons are generally harder to use than in COD, this means that kill times vary a lot with player skill. So the better player will simply kill faster, all else being equal. But in COD, all the guns are so stupidly easy to use that there's almost no variance in kill times, boiling the game down to the "I saw you first" cliche, especially in the so-called "hardcore" mode, which actually just rewards having faster reflexes over any other aspect of player skill. Halo and Counter-Strike have more in common than COD has with either of them.

"What shocked me the most was when Danny joined the Dina podcast, where Dina asked him about this partnership, and he said that we're only doing Titled Tuesday with Take Take Take because we paid them a big check." "We are covering the prize fund. So we are paying the prize money for the players. The thing that shocked me was that, yes, it's factually true that we are paying the prize fund and covering that expense for Chesscom, but we had a shared ambition. And it was very clear to me in that interview that this ambition is only for Take Take Take." "That was devastating for me and for the team to hear, for our partner in this project not to have the same vision and alignment and talking about how big Titled Tuesday can become."

ARE 1 ON 0 WORKOUTS THE BEST WAY TO TRAIN? I moved away from 1 on 0 workouts a long time ago. They are great if the player has a specific technical need. It allows you to slow down and dive deep with the player. Other than that… multi player workouts are exponentially more productive and beneficial for the players. This allows them to still work on technical skill, but it allows you to put them in an environment where they have to read multiple players on the court- exactly how the game will be. Add in the fact that it forces players to compete and it’s a no brainer!
