Pride of Lawton, Ok! Lol I was a freshman in highschool and in the crowd for this one. I, too, was born and raised in Lawton. So this was a special game to be in attendance for! The original AP was BAD MAN!

Went to that game with my Aunt and Uncle who were professors at UCLA at the time. They kept shouting “don’t punt to him!” They still had a great time and loved the atmosphere.

I remember that game well. Can't believe they kept punting to him. I've also got a football signed by him

I flew back from California the Friday before this game and there were a ton of UCLA fans on the plane. I wonder how their flight home was.

I legitimately believed that every time he touched the ball he was going to the house after this game. Oh, to be 12 years old again and have faith that it’s “your year” every fall

@mwmogsports I remember watching that game and losing my mind while escorting him into the end zone from afar on the third for that amazing feat.

I heard the last one was called punt safe, and one of the blockers told him the hole would be there for him. He reminded them it was punt safe and he was reminded THE HOLE WILL BE THERE, GET THROUGH IT! It was more important to the blockers than him, and he got through it.
