Throwback to the time when Slash ignored Michael Jackson's cue and nearly got kicked off stage😂
36 Comments

Slash and Michael Jackson starred in one of the most surreal MTV moments when the "King of Pop" lost control of his own stage. 🎤🎸 During the performance of Black or White (notably at the 1995 VMAs and the Dangerous tour), Slash completely ignored Michael's signals to wrap up his solo and kept shredding for nearly two extra minutes, leaving Jackson pacing, half-laughing and half-desperate. 🤔 Fun fact: Although the clip looks like real chaos where Michael even calls for security to step in, it was all a choreographed stunt. 🎭 Michael, a notorious perfectionist, designed Slash's "out-of-control" moment to buy himself time to run backstage, change outfits, and prepare the epic transition into Billie Jean. What millions took for a rock-and-roll rebellion was actually the best-rehearsed magic trick in pop history. 🎩✨ Did you know? 🤯

NOW THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT!!!

Yes!

It would be really nice if the current “powers that be” in the music industry would promote actual musicians that are real artists & are capable of entertaining & are able to write songs about how they truly feel which resonate with a mass audience… That would be nice… As far as I’m concerned, Michael Jackson officially ended racism for Generation X when he released “Black or White”… Now they just promote weirdos with ZERO TALENT whose voices sound like Pee Wee Herman when their auto tune is turned off… There’s my rant… LOL!!

He didn’t miss anything…it was all part of the show. He did the EXACT same thing a couple years earlier at the VMAs…unfortunately MJ liked to repeat himself.

They staged this, it was a joke between them. Michael’s idea 😂

Andy Kaufman would've been proud. 🤣

Absolutely😂

yeah totally not scripted.

I love Slash but he sounded like shit here.

Okay but it was probably staged. My issue is how shitty he's playing after the cue. hahahahha

Not true! MJ rehearsed everything beforehand

Michael Jackson should have swung on his ass.

Looks like part of the show to me. Having a little fun.

How in the world do you out-ham Michael Jackson?

The smirk on Slash`s face as the people trying to shoo` him off the stage🤣The risk of inviting a rock and roll artist onto a pop stage. 😏

He must have been high as fuck!

I love how live shows become fun in this way lol like “alright now” but you killin it.

I’d much rather watch slash than some mixed little boy toucher try to dance and grab his junk on stage

Michael was such a fun, good sport. OMG he's so funny and cute!

Staged and great entertainment. 😂😂😂

How old are you? Either a child or way too old if you believe this wasn't scripted.

You cannot make me love this man more

Some people have the gall to compare this lame ass to Buckethead.

........ slash knew .@michaeljackson was a pedo; we don’t listen to pedos

Slash was feeling and killing it.

Part of the show of course. The same happened during the 1995 MTV music awards which is also in my opinion, the greatest Michael Jackson live performance of all time.

A lot of stupid people out here.

This was an act. It’s called entertainment.

Jesus, that guitar solo was horrendous.

It’s all an act. Especially the fact that they did this at the ‘95 VMA’s. Same exact performance.

MJ felt threatened by an actual musician being on the stage

Sorry, Michael! Good man. Great artist!

“Alright! alright! hey! hey!” 😂

THIS IS PART OF THE ACT - MICHAEL JACKSON WAS IN ON IT.
