"The Man Behind the Mask: The Soldier Who Cheated Death in Pulwama and Saved Lives in Wayanad."🇮🇳 You might have seen a photo of an Indian Army officer wearing a hard shell mask over his face. You probably scrolled past it, thinking it was tactical gear or a style choice. It isn’t. That mask hides a face that took 3 bullets for you. That mask covers a jaw that was shattered, so you could sleep safely. This is the story of Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi (Nair), the man they call "India's Most Fearless." THE NIGHTMARE IN PULWAMA (2017) -->It was March 4, 2017. Tral, Pulwama. Intel confirmed that terrorists were fortified inside a civilian house. It was a death trap. Sending men in was suicide; bombing it from afar would kill civilians. -->Major Rishi (then with 42 Rashtriya Rifles) made a choice that defies human instinct. He didn't order his men to go. He volunteered to go himself. -->His mission was to plant an IED to bring down the specific section of the house hiding the terrorists. THE IMPACT As he crawled into the kill zone, all hell broke loose. -->Bullet 1: Grazed his helmet. -->Bullet 2: Tore through his nose. -->Bullet 3: Shattered his jaw completely. -->Most men would die from the shock alone. Others would collapse. Rishi? He kept firing. -->With his face mutilated, blood pouring out, and unable to speak, he refused to evacuate until the terrorists were neutralized and his team was safe. He didn't just survive; he ensured the mission was a success. THE RESURRECTION -->The aftermath was brutal. 28 major surgeries. A face reconstructed from bone grafts and metal plates. A permanent loss of normal speech and eating abilities. -->The Medical Board prepared his discharge papers. "You've done enough, soldier. Go home." -->But Lt. Col. Rishi had other plans. He didn't want a pension; he wanted his uniform. He rehabilitated himself with a ferocity that scared even his doctors. He returned to active duty. THE WAYANAD SAVIOR (2024) Years later, when the devastating landslides hit Wayanad, Kerala, who was leading the rescue on the ground? The Masked Man. Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi was there, wading through mud and death, pulling his own people out of the debris. From fighting terrorists in Kashmir to saving civilians in Kerala, his war for India never ended. WE HAVE FAILED HIM We live in a society that will make a stranger famous for a 15-second dance reel, yet we scroll right past the man who literally sacrificed his face to keep us safe. We feast on hollow entertainment while he eats through a tube. That mask isn't a choice; it’s the receipt for our freedom, and the fact that we don't know his name is our collective shame. Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi is not just a soldier; he is a living testament to the fact that the Indian Army is not made of flesh and blood, but of iron and will. Don't let this story die on your timeline. Today we remember World War II Medal of Honor recipient Pfc. George Benjamin Jr. His Medal of Honor citation reads: "Benjamin was a radio operator, advancing in the rear of his company as it engaged a well-defended Japanese strongpoint holding up the progress of the entire battalion. When a rifle platoon supporting a light tank hesitated in its advance, he voluntarily and with utter disregard for personal safety left his comparatively secure position and ran across bullet-whipped terrain to the tank, waving and shouting to the men of the platoon to follow. Carrying his bulky radio and armed only with a pistol, he fearlessly penetrated intense machine-gun and rifle fire to the enemy position, where he killed one of the enemy in a foxhole and moved to annihilate the crew of a light machine gun. Heedless of the terrific fire now concentrated on him, he continued to spearhead the assault, killing two more of the enemy and exhorting the other men to advance, until he fell mortally wounded. After being evacuated to an aid station, his first thought was still of the American advance. Overcoming great pain, he called for the battalion operations officer to report the location of enemy weapons and valuable tactical information he had secured in his heroic charge. The unwavering courage, the unswerving devotion to the task at hand, the aggressive leadership of Benjamin were a source of great and lasting inspiration to his comrades and were to a great extent responsible for the success of the battalion's mission." Benjamin is buried at Manila American Cemetery, Philippines. We continue to honor and remember his service and sacrifice.

The Israel Hoax just dropped. Presidential candidate Donald Trump is being investigated for the alleged "massive crime" of making an unsanctioned phone call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. As reported by Axios, the former president spoke on the phone with Netanyahu to discuss the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, citing two U.S. sources who were briefed on the call. Donald Trump met with Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in July. Netanyahu also met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during his visit. According to Newsweek, if Trump did make the call, he would "potentially be breaking the law as the Logan Act, enacted in 1799," which "prohibits unauthorized private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments on behalf of the U.S." American Muckrakers filed a request with the Justice department and the State Department over Donald Trump's alleged call. Donald Trump's reported conversation with Netanyahu would be far from unusual, particularly for a former president or an ex-diplomat. In March 2024, former President Barack Obama paid a "surprise visit" to Downing Street in the United Kingdom to meet with then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. A British official told The Hill that Obama and Sunak discussed a variety of issues, including international affairs and artificial intelligence (AI). During the Trump administration, former Secretary of State John Kerry met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in meetings that critics say were intended to undermine sitting President Trump.

While many around the league don’t expect any linebackers to be drafted tonight, if there is one, it certainly could be #TexasAM’s Edgerrin Cooper. Cooper is the most complete LB in the 2024 draft class. He’s shown to be: 1️⃣an elite athlete 2️⃣a consistent and impactful run defender 3️⃣a capable and efficient blitzer, and 4️⃣able to use his size and bend to disrupt in pass protection As a run defender, he finished with an 87.6 PFF grade, highest among any expected draft linebackers in this year’s draft class. That includes 15 TFLs or no gain plays. As you can see (🎥), his downhill force plus balance and control allows him to consistently win in the run game As a pass rusher, he had 7 sacks on the year, 4 of which came from playing on the line of scrimmage. When lined up on the line of scrimmage, he generated a pressure on over 30% of his pass rush snaps. Elite ‼️ And in coverage, he finished with a top-10 coverage grade int eh country last season (per PFF College) among LBs lined up in the box. He’s able to use his length and bend, along with developed vision and timing to disrupt plays from the box. Couple all of that with a 4.51 forty time and would-be impressive athletic testing numbers if he was 100% for the draft process (why he wasn’t able to officially go every day in practice at East-West Shrine Bowl), and it’s hard to ignore his NFL starting potential. There’s a real chance he goes in late round one, but if he’s there on Day 2, he may not only be one of, if not the, first linebacker drafted, but may be one of the first players taken on Day 2 of the draft. #ShrineBowlWhosNext

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 U.S-ISRAELI STRIKES ON IRAN: MAJOR COMBAT, MAJOR CONSEQUENCES The Middle East just crossed a line it may not be able to uncross. After coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets, including the compound of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Trump declared the start of “major combat operations” and openly urged Iranians to “take over your government.” Iran answered within hours, launching missiles toward Israel and U.S. military installations in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE. Airspace across the region shut down. Hundreds of flights were grounded. Sirens wailed throughout Israel. Smoke rose near the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain. Even Dubai, usually insulated from frontline chaos, felt the spillover. Netanyahu framed the assault as removing an “existential threat.” Washington insists Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. Tehran denies pursuing one and now vows “crushing retaliation,” declaring all U.S. bases in the region legitimate targets. And just like that, deterrence becomes escalation. Calling on Iranians to overthrow their government may sound bold, but history is littered with examples of foreign pressure strengthening the very regimes it seeks to topple. Nationalism hardens. Hardliners consolidate. Internal dissent gets crushed under the banner of resisting outside aggression. Meanwhile, regional allies are uneasy. The UK has distanced itself from the strikes. European leaders condemn Iranian retaliation but stop short of endorsing Washington’s escalation. Gulf states now face direct missile threats on their soil. This is how regional conflicts become global crises. The stated goal is to stop a nuclear Iran. The risk is a multi-front war stretching from Israel to the Gulf, pulling in proxy forces, global powers, and energy markets already on edge. While “major combat operations” are easy to announce, they’re much harder to contain.
