The next few days all #TamilNadu social media and mainstream will be full of Cyclone content. Windy will have to put a dedicated data centre for #Chennai. #NEM2024 #WxwithCOMK.

A fine spell of summer weather ahead, temperatures increasing with sunny spells for more areas as we go the week and into the weekend. Temperatures up to 29c and increased chance that this fine warm spell will last well into next week now also with just small chance of thunderstorms. There will be some patchy drizzle in parts of West and North but those areas will see more sunny spells too.

📁 Sam Altman says that: “ChatGPT is, I think, the fifth biggest website in the world now. If it stays on its current trajectory, it will be the biggest website in the world.” “There will be billions of people using free AGI at some point. Everyone will have access to great medical advice, to great education, and the ability to ask for any software to be made for free.” “Technology on the whole does a lot to spread massive global benefit, the story of the last couple of hundred years has been that, and we should not be ashamed of it.”

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but a Nor’easter has hit New York. It will be impacting the east coast for the next couple of days.

Every generation will have its challenges to overcome. COVID was one of them; it will not be the last. When the next comes, I hope Singaporeans will do well. If I’m around, I’ll cheer you on; if I’m not, I’ll be looking at you. – LHL

Morning Update Focus: North Georgia down to the Metro. Last night behaved about as expected. Lighter precipitation fell across a wide footprint that was affected by CAD. This wide footprint was well forecasted by the NWS as you see the footprint still slightly past I-75 and south of I-20 on the early run of the radar. We have maybe a lull in precipitation, though I doubt it will be a complete lull before the line of thunderstorms and yes, thunder-ice moves through the area stacking ice totals quickly. The warm nose will slowly begin to lift north and eastward, however as you see portrayed by the 10z HRRR, the areas that are CAD prone never rise above freezing (I’m gonna hold off on gloating about calling that one cause it hasn’t happened yet), while the heart of the line pushes through. This is going to be interesting I’m about to get outside and check. I’m expecting to see around .25-.40 already in Lumpkin County. But let me get the morning going (coffee!)

Voting shouldn’t be about picking who has a “D” or “R” next to their name; it should be about electing people to seats of power that will make the best decisions for you and your family.

NEW: Drone shots at first light this morning as devastation is left in wake of the MASSIVE Hunggate Fire - this blaze has erupted to 14,000+ acres in the Texas panhandle, one of many fires that were ignited Thursday afternoon. The culprit for a majority of them is believed to be from dry thunderstorms (thunderstorms that produce lightning but little to no rain). #TXwx
