That’s not lust, that’s a son who can’t win his father’s respect, so he wrecks the one thing Crassus actually cares about. Miserable and exact.

That makes the scene even darker. Tiberius isn’t acting from desire as much as spite and wounded pride—Kore becomes the weapon he uses against Crassus because he can’t defeat his father directly. It’s powerlessness disguised as power.

That’s a sharp read. The scene isn’t about desire it’s Tiberius lashing out at the one thing he can’t control or earn: his father’s regard. Using Kore as a proxy makes it even colder and more revealing.

Tiberius isn't acting out of desire as much as resentment. Kore becomes collateral damage in a struggle for power and approval that was never really about her.

Tiberius’ actions are less about desire and more about power, resentment, and revenge.

He’s striking at the one person his father actually values because he can’t win the approval he wants any other way. It’s powerlessness dressed up as power.

That scene is a brutal example of how Tiberius turns Kore into a weapon against his own father. His actions come from jealousy, humiliation, and a desperate need for control but there’s nothing powerful about it. It only exposes how insecure and powerless he really is.

This take is spot on. That scene always felt more about hurting Crassus than anything else. The father-son stuff in this show is brutal.

This is less a crime of passion than a confession of failure. He can’t be the son Crassus wants, so he attacks the one person Crassus actually values.

This take is spot on. Tiberius isn’t acting out of lust he’s lashing out because he can’t win his father’s respect any other way. Kore isn’t the target so much as the one thing Crassus actually values. It’s a coward’s move, but it also shows how powerless and humiliated he feels next to both his father and Caesar. The scene hits harder once you see it as the son attacking the father’s heart instead of facing him directly.

The writing in that episode is razor sharp. Tiberius isn’t chasing desire …he’s trying to wound the only person Crassus actually cares about because he knows he can never earn his father’s respect.
