Still remember reading Gotham Central and out of nowhere there was an infinite crisis tie in with Captain Marvel lying injured and defeated in Gotham as The Spectre went insane and wrecked havoc in Gotham

"justice league the atom project" was such stupid and pointless bullshit. I will never recover the time I wasted on that comic

Crisis on Infinite Earths feels like this. There's a whole subplot with Blue Devil that just kind of...ends.

One of them is a 5-7 issue storyline that only exists to explain the Spectre was getting jobbed yet again and couldn't end everything in 5 seconds.

Basically Infinite Crisis lol. The OMAC project, Identity Crisis, Day of Vengeance, that weird Superman comic where he got mind controlled by Maxwell Lord. And Maxwell Lord gets killed by Wonder Woman live on camera. Can you see how crazy this all sounds? 😂😂

Just recently read Zero Hour for the first time and this is exactly how it felt

When you try to read one of them older runs and it gets interrupted by a 40 issue event, which you can't skip over, but you have to jump from different comics in order to get the continuity, because no one thought to collect everything in order in one book (Millennium)

Reading Countdown and they keep skipping around story beats because there’s major stories from other runs happening in the background of every Pied Piper and Trickster moment

I know someone already said Final Crisis, but literally the Superman 3D tie in issue is some next level insanity while still being integral for the actual story

I remember reading Superman during Absolute power and wondering "where the fuck is he? Why is zattana here"
