TikTok just forked VS Code?! ByteDance launched Trae - an AI code editor meant to compete with Cursor, Copilot and Windsurf. I gave it a shot and it's very close to Cursor - especially the Agent mode.

I can't wait to test it, seriously this competition is going to be very interesting in future. May be, we will get completely free AI code editor in upcoming days.

I'm using it right now. Can't believe they are giving access to claude sonnet 3.5 for free right now. Overall seems like a cursor clone (with improvements), but the webview is really helpful. I'm liking it so far, they need to add system prompts, .cursorrules alternative, and documentation/web features that cursor has.
