Interesting trivia on Van Halen and the names they went by in the years. In 1964, the very first band Eddie and Alex Van Halen started was called the Broken Combs. They later went by Trojan Rubber Co. Around 1971–1972, the brothers (with bassist Mark Stone) renamed the group Genesis. They were mostly a cover band at this point. They changed the name to Mammoth after discovering Genesis was already taken as a band name. In 1973-1974, the band finally settled on Van Halen.

Yesterday, Marky Ramone of the late band Ramones was supposed to play a gig in Italy. When he saw the Palestinian flag on stage he demanded it be removed. The organisers replied that if he wasn’t willing to have that flag on stage he could go back to where he came from. Respect.
