Tim Curry was one of those actors you never forgot once you saw him. For some of us, he will always be Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. For others, he was the absolutely terrifying Pennywise in IT, the unforgettable Wadsworth in Clue, or Darkness in Legend. And then there was that voice. The Wild Thornberrys. FernGully. Peter Pan & the Pirates. Video games, animation, stage productions and countless characters where you might not have even realized it was Tim Curry until you heard that unmistakable voice. His career stretched across more than five decades, from the stage to film, television and voice acting. He could be hilarious, sinister, completely ridiculous or genuinely terrifying, sometimes all in the same performance. After suffering a major stroke in 2012, Tim faced a very different life, but he never completely disappeared. He continued doing voice work and making appearances, and in 2025 he was there to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the movie that helped make him a legend, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Tim Curry passed away Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 80 years old. There are actors who play great characters. And then there are actors who create characters nobody else could have possibly played the same way. Tim Curry was one of those. He was a guy when he first showed up in Cleveland that you knew was gonna be a problem in the league just because of his skillset, his composure. Obviously his speed. He’s just a gamer. NEW: A witness who was at the McDonald's where Luigi Mangione was caught, says he and a friend joked at Mangione that he looked like the New York sh**ter. McDonald’s customer, Larry, said he and a friend were joking so loud that Mangione could hear them. "One of my friends, and I thought he was kidding when the sh**ter... who they made the arrest on came in, he made a comment: 'Well, that looks like the shooter from New York.'" My nephews friend would visit the house and after a while turned it into his vacation home. Helping himself to anything and everything he could get his hands on. What was even weirder was his dad would drop him off like we were a personal babysitter and he once even asked me to borrow gas money. That dude still owes me $20, which I will never see. But let me know, was he taking advantage of us or was I reading way too much into it.

John Landis was offended by an article he read about Jewish comics in blackface at the time of making "Coming to America" (1988) & he thought it was really ignorant. So, he called Eddie Murphy & told him that he has to play the role of an old Jew in the movie. At first, Murphy couldn't believe it, but was willing to give it a go. After putting on the make up of an old Jewish man designed by Rick Baker, Murphy walked around the Paramount offices flirting with secretaries and telling everyone, "Hi, I am Eddie Murphy". No one recognised or believed him. One old lady was really convinced that he was an old man & gave him her phone number. After that he was confident that he could play the role convincingly. Man, the more I watch old footage, the more I realize Michael Jackson was an absolute phenomenon a true once in a generation talent. There are moments in his performances where his movement, his control, his charisma it all feels so superhuman that you genuinely start to wonder if he was built different. Like he wasn’t playing by the same rules as the rest of us.🤦🏾‍♂️ And then you remember he was only 17 years old when he was doing all of that. Just a teenager. That level of greatness at such a young age is honestly insane. What a gift he was to the world 😮‍💨

The Rocky Horror Show was staged at my high school my junior year & it was the first time I sat down and watched the film. Tim Curry blew my doors off. I didn’t know you could do the things Curry does in this film - it’s like he changed the rules of the game as he went. In other words? He was a pioneer. Fearless. And a heart that was absolutely massive. This week just got even worse. RIP to a legend.

I gave my bank card to my son to buy a few things. Unfortunately, he lost it without realizing it, and I had no idea it was missing. Then I received an unexpected call from a stranger asking, “Are you Kofi? Have you lost a bank card?” I was surprised, so I called my son, and he admitted he couldn’t find it. Thankfully, the kind person who found the card contacted a local radio station. The presenter, my good friend Eddie, gave him my number, and he personally returned the card to me. Moments like this remind me that there are still honest people in this world. I truly believe that when you do good, God has a way of sending good people into your life when you need them most. To the gentleman who returned my card, thank you.
