Students that come to me and want to “hear God’s voice,” I know what they mean but I always tell them to read the Bible out loud. That is God’s voice.

Tim is accurate, but - TGC suppresses the presence and voice of God through the Holy Spirit, who was promised and given to us. Let’s not deny the power and presence of God..

@timkellernyc Jesus is The Word of God. The Bible is a word of God.

Was this clip before or after he taught Lectio Devina to his church?

When God speaks through his word it is authoritative. But does God speak outside of scripture (by this I don’t mean that God EVER speaks something inconsistent with scripture!)? Yes - or is someone going to tell me that he convicts of sin only when we read the bible? ->

@richie59 👆🏻 that’s so good! 🙏🏻

Well, when I read my Bible, how would i hear He is saying, "quite your job and move to another town"?

I really like Keller but he missed something. God speaks directly to us. Always has, always will. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. He's our teacher, our counselor. Also, what about Paul's Macedonian call? Peter's vision in Acts 10. Etc? Modern examples exist as well.
