Earlier this week I asked Senator Tim Sheehy about the Trump administration’s logic behind striking Iran, and he told me & Drop Site that following Israel’s lead “is not codependency, it’s common sense.” Then, when asked why we would preemptively act on Israel’s preemptive action in anticipation of an Iranian strike, he paused before saying, “I guess I’m not as smart as you. I’ll have to figure that one out.” Sheehy notably broke U.S. Marine Brian McGinnis’s arm the day after this interview was filmed when McGinnis shouted in a Senate hearing “Nobody wants to go to war for Israel.” According to AIPAC Tracker, Sheehy has accepted $641,337 from the Pro-Israel lobby.
