@RexChapman He started the 1995 season 16-1. That’s great for any pitcher, but it’s absolutely insane for a knuckleballer. The whole reason knuckleballs are effective is inconsistency. A consistently great knuckleball over that span is a paradox.

@Topps1988 Unless you’re a catcher. Bob Ueker, said he never had trouble catching the knuckler, “if you just let it go to wall and pick it up”.

Absolutely! Wakefield's knuckleball was pure magic on the mound. It had hitters scratching their heads and swinging at thin air. Such a joy to watch!

That's the way my dad tought me to throw a knuckleball...but it takes a lot of practice to get the velocity up...ya throw it like a fastball and then the magic happens
