Amusing to hear you say these things. Teaching kids how to think was a key focus when I started teaching in 1981, and it never changed. As for cursive writing, are you planning to sign up? Holding a pen correctly would be a good start for you.

Millions of children are sitting in schools with mold, undrinkable water, underfunded classrooms & lack of staff resources & poor air quality. @Sflecce & the @OHRC feel that cursive writing is their #1 priority to develop critical thinking skills, improve literacy & math.

Special education is chronically underfunded in Ontario schools leading to exclusions across the province. Education is a human right! @OntHumanRights

Excellent! But I have to ask, who removed these from the curriculum and why in the first place?

Take down the pride flags. Dismiss any teacher who complains, as clearly their focus is not on education.

Maybe Doug listed all of things he has never learned and they have added those to the curriculum.

Cursive writing has been in the curriculum. You could stand learning how to use commas and short forms. And let’s hope this cursive fixes all the mental health concerns, crumbling buildings and lack of contracts for teachers.

Why aren’t kids being supplied with technology anymore? Why did you eliminate the program with which all students grades 7 and up had an iPad to support learning? Sure helped those with social-economic issues. Now we have bring your own tech and cursive writing. #onted #onpoli

Back to basics! More rotary phones! More ink wells and quill pens! More Anglo-Saxon in the classroom! More girls cooking and cleaning! More boys in the trades! Let’s go back to the 1940’s! Useless politician!

Stop the indoctrinating of our children.

1. Return? We never left phonics. 2. Great! While we're at it let's also reinstate Latin, hieroglyphics, and cave drawing. Equally useful. 3. When we do this, Conservative parents get mad (ironically). Because critical thinking often challenges Conservative, traditional thinking.

Well, thankfully, I went to school and I know how to cursive write great job minister👍👍👍

Just waiting for you to introduce advanced buggy whip making to round out your “Pleasantville” education strategy.

Cursive writing from the guy who insists kids have online learning.

Time and Tested Strategies? Show us the sources!!!

How about we go back to the basics of teachers being provided with the tools they need to teach?!? Most of our classrooms are filled with things we had to go out and buy ourselves to teach all of your wonderful ‘new’ curriculums!!

Success in the classroom begins with smaller class sizes, up to date resources and student/parent accountability!

I just don't believe a word you say.

Prime minister Steve: let’s do eLearning and get with the 21st century. Also Senator sterv: LeT’s LeArN CuRsIvE

If you are sticking to time and tested strategies, how about smaller class sizes! NEWS FLASH: ALL PARENTS AND EXPERTS AGREE THAT IT WOULD WORK. But go ahead keep boasting about cursive writing because that’s the piece that’s been missing all along 🙄.

What’s next? Bringing back the abacus?

We stopped teaching phonics?

I was an excellent student, but cursive is not an essential skill. It teaches nada of any value and encourages poor penmanship (look at any doctor’s note and see if you understand it. Mandatory civics lessons would do much more to inspire young minds, build stronger communities

When are you taking out woke and activists from schools? Or are you to afraid to to take on the radical left.

Cursive and destreamed courses... that's what happens when your leader didn't finish high school.

Nope. Obviously these strategies haven't worked out well for you. You can go to night school to catch up if you want ...just saying. Possibly you'll be all caught up in a year or so.

Yet online credits are still mandatory in high school. You really don’t have a clue what you are doing, do you?

Honestly, who do you really work for? Some of us know exactly what’s up, Stephen

Stop!! We know what we need to support students! We need smaller class sizes and support staff. LISTEN TO THOSE WHO ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT STUDENTS NEED. You went to a private school, no degree in education, no children, and have you ever volunteered in a public school class?

How about providing proper ventilation in classrooms to ensure that students and teachers are not infected by viruses that can produce permanent neuro-cognitive sequelae?

Slight of hand to distract from chronically underfunding education (nice spin @Sflecce) at least your focused on your portfolio today. Tomorrow it’ll be leeches and blood letting in hospitals over antibiotics…surely it’ll make us more resilient:-)

Instead of re-arranging deck chairs, how about ending the Marxist nonsense that has gripped school boards across the province? You are the worst education minister in living memory.

Excellent. Now find a way to offer shift working Dads like me a break in our Municipal taxes to do school yard duty and mentorship gardening programs for kids.

u r unqualified
