Stealth Is Echo Control Stealth does not mean the aircraft stops scattering radar. It means the shape tries to keep the strongest echo from going back to the radar that sent it. Of course theres the issue of absorbing material as well. Here a pulsed radar wave hits the B-2 Spirit nose-on. The sharp front cuts into the wavefront, sending little energy straight back while much of the field is guided along the aircraft’s body. By the time the wave leaves the tail, the front is still largely intact, almost as if the aircraft has redirected the pulse around itself instead of throwing it back.
