Time to put those deformable voxels to work. Here is a very quick softbody test. There are some artefacts and missing motion vectors but there's potential!

So cool! Now I’m wondering how the physics would work on a deforming mech like this. It must be broken into slices?

Right now particle based, but will swtich to rigid body clusters. In theory it should work with destruction as well.

even with this kind of deformation all the voxel data is retained and editable? (cut,, shoot, explode?) It's looking great

Yes, the voxel data is just the plain old regular grid. So it should work... in theory :)
