All me biased, but I love the look of those Late Roman/Byzantine dome churches. It’s a tasteful mix of classical Roman & medieval styles.

My old parish was established when a wealthy benefactor bought a former protestant church (a nice early 20th century timber frame) and dropped it on the parcel of land that had been acquired.

One orthodox dude had some kind of vision from God and personally painted iconography, saints, patterns, the works all over the inside of the entire orthodox church in my town. Gold leaf, intricate carving, everything. Like 20 years of work.
