This animation shows hourly measurements of Particulate Matter 10 micrometres or less in diameter (PM10) across the Po Valley from 1 January to 31 January 2024. The data was obtained from Copernicus ECMWF reanalysis modelled data. PM10 plays a pivotal role in the air quality dynamics of the Po Valley. Comprising various particles like dust, pollen and combustion byproducts, PM10 is inhalable and can impact respiratory health.

These "Smog Guns" have become quite famous lately, we imported these from China and they are used worldwide. India alone has 368 in Delhi. They help clear visibility and reduce haze by suspending particles in the air. Every citizen of Lahore is a partner in the fight against smog. The government can make policies, legislate, monitor, and enforce but real change depends on citizens. This is a shared responsibility.
