Tip for the #calciumcrackers using Shockwave Medical I’ve been prepping the SW balloon the same way I do w/ Stingray balloon. Very fast and effective. - 20cc empty luer lock syringe for vaccuum generation - 3cc luer lock syringe with pure dye - simple stopcock (blue one is my... show more

@ShockwaveIVL We did this at first. Got several errors with pure contrast and shifted to 50:50 without as many. Air will eventually occur with the pulses. It decreases efficacy & we de-air as soon as it does.

@ShockwaveIVL Good tip. Not getting erros but may try to fill 3cc syringe with 50:50

@ShockwaveIVL Good tips Why not do negative pressure with indeflator before the first insuflation?

@ShockwaveIVL Just go up with pressure. Minimize air entry as it’s all filled with a perfect column of contrast

@ShockwaveIVL Interesting

@ShockwaveIVL Good tip. Doing the same and balloons are always well prepped!

@ShockwaveIVL I would add a repeat deairing midway through the cycles. Cavitation bubbles from the lithotripsy increases chance of rupture.

@ShockwaveIVL Fantastic tips!

@ShockwaveIVL That’s great. Can you show how you prep the Sting ray balloon. I had hard time visualizing the ballon under fluoro when I do ADR

@ShockwaveIVL 50:50 is recommended. With 10s cycles, you don't want prolonged deflation time, particular in patients who cannot tolerate ischaemic time.

@ShockwaveIVL So we fill the balloon with pure contrast but on the indeflator the solution is 50:50 so no delayed deflation time. There’s no issues 👍🏻
