The police and TMC goons work together to block the paths for opposition members to participate in elections. If someone wins, they are not even given a certificate... TMC goons are making the last desperate attempt to steal the Elections by obstructing the Counting Agents & Candidates of BJP West Bengal and other opposition political parties from entering the Counting Hall. They are being restricted from going towards the venue from 1-2 kms afar. Bombs are being hurled to intimidate the Counting Agents. They are being mercilessly beaten up, even kidnapped. The Counting Agents & Candidates couldn't enter :- # Fakir Chand College in Diamond Harbour # Keshpur College # Counting Centres at Galsi, Katwa, Amta, Bagnan, Barabani, Kirnahar and several other places. The State Election Commission must halt the Counting Process and ensure that all the Opposition Counting Agents & Candidates are able to reach the Counting Centres unobstructed. Only when they reach the venue, then only the Counting Process should begin.

People go to the elections regularly, but elections produce outcomes which affirm the same three families. For example [ in Mali] power have been changing hands between three families. The youth are now gatvol of that. They want to break the cycle. Never mind the fact that they are wearing military uniforms. These are young people. They are want to cut chord with French colony. In West Africa, power has been consistently taken by old leaders who still swear their allegiance to their colonial masters. The youth say, it's enough now. They are now takinh over power with guns and say let's stop the nonsense. We can't blame these soldiers. We can criticise, but we need to understand. Even in SA it's not just enough to be in power through elections. Are people governing as the ANC documents say "People shall govern". We need to critically ask that. Power is not for self enrichment.

In a disturbing escalation of political violence in West Bengal, the TMC launched a violent attack at the BJP District Party Office in Cooch Behar. The Assembly Elections are probably 11 months away but TMC have unleashed their attack dogs on the principal opposition party; BJP. This shows that they are losing ground and that's why they are resorting to violence so early. The Party Office is located in the Cooch Behar town and the incident unfolded in the presence of Mamata Police. TMC Goons along with Jihadists who are under the patronage of Mamata Police executed the attack. Several of our Karyakartas got injured badly. Recently, BJP MLA from Cooch Behar South Assembly Constituency; Shri Nikhil Ranjan Dey was attacked by TMC Goons while he was going towards Dinhata Court. Today's incident has reignited concerns over the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the district and all over the state as well. The attack is a deliberate attempt to intimidate BJP workers and a blueprint of the TMC's desperation to cling on to power through violence and thuggery.
