I-5 was blocked after Huizar got into a high-speed chase with police with shots reportedly being fired. According to officials, at the end of the pursuit, Huizar shot himself in the head. Luckily, his 1-year-old son he kidnapped was unharmed. Huizar launched the attacks on Monday, the same day he was due in court for r*pe. He was arrested on February 3 after his 17-year-old girlfriend says he attacked her 16-year-old friend at their home. He was charged with second-degree r*pe, furnishing alcohol for minors and third-degree r*pe.
