Tbh. I hope this is a toe dip on the pool for an eventual mutual understanding and respect between the west and Russia. Russia was never the problem, at least in my lifetime. War is profitable for people who cause war, or the fear of war. The entire world could at least get along. If not for ONE country.

If this happens, Russia will put significant pressure on Iran to strike a deal. This entire thing may be as you say, or it may be a legit play to end both wars
