To those doomering or doomposting about #StopKillingGames, how we failed, or our chances are dead because the ECI is over, we have a message that goes back to the times before we reached 1 million signatures: It's not over until it's over. We have multiple paths to victory here

as it expected, well then ... like always, the usual plan.

@bagaskarahadjar Piracy does not solve the problem for the kinds of games most in need of saving. Ross has been clear about this for years

I mention about the single player one tho 😅. The one you suppose to own it offline, not online only.

In case Plan A doesn't work... Prepare a Plan B. Good mentality right there!

May force be with you

@RWSstudios Hell yeah

Cant stop the signal. One way or another, preservation will happen. We'd just prefer to make it official, recognised and formally protected.

It ain't over. The path to victory is the one that leads there 😃

I ran two ChatGPT queries related to connectivity requirements for games, which is how playability is usually killed after publishers end support; obviously these numbers are not always easy to quantify but it shows more or less where things are at. It demonstrates some interesting info how the indie game development community gets it. From a consumer standpoint, when gamers buy a game, we want to be able to own it and play it indefinitely. I'd say same goes for music libraries which is why I still prefer buying and downloading MP3s.

We have a hand-sourced list where you can get a better picture:

Fantastic work keeping track of games killed or at risk of being killed. That is such a tremendous amount of data. This conversation has got me thinking, how I would prefer to always buy games that cannot be killed. What if there were "SKG Certified" games that developers pledged to make available. With a stamp of approval and a database of those games. I'd buy SKG Certified games over any others, and I'd bet that other gamers would do the same. If enough developers signed on, government action or inaction on this issue would lose relevance. Just an idea, although that too would take a lot of work.
We may have to destroy the AAA publishers like Ubisoft first. If it weren't for their bribes in their secret meeting it may have passed.

never give up, never surrender!!

Stay strong because it is ridiculous that we have to deal with an industry that is extremely anti consumer. It can’t keep going this way forever. Statistically it’s impossible. Either gaming will die or they’ll figure out the proper way to do business again.

You did everything right, im just immensely disappointed in our politicians

godspeed Ross and the team

It’s not Game over until we say it is Being buttered up by millionaires whilst we make these gaming studios millions They are not ready for Phase 2

Thank you. Keep up the good work!

Paths? Victory?? What are you talking about??? Your initiative failded because corporates made agreement between themselves and flipped you off. Do you think you have any chance at anything? You just go back there and it happens all over again. So yeah, all we can do is pirate.

You clearly didn't engage with anything we or Ross have put out. Watch those clips, or our highlight clips of MEPs talking about what's next and you'll get an idea: Louis Rossmann released a "pep talk":

I don't need to enage with you to understand what's happening. I saw the news. They simply flipped you off because all they care about is money. They don't see games as we do. As art. They see it as money making machine. And that's all that matters to them.

@StopKilingGames Also... Never say it's over. Even if everything fails, we still have other options... options I shall not name. At least right now.

I have only one option. And I have been using it since I started gaming when I was 6. And you know it very well too.

Glad to see you guys make this exceedingly clear as someone who watched Ross's video and got quickly annoyed by all the doomposters acting like SKG lived or died on the EU's decision.

You guys are fighting the good fight and seeing how much the industry is fighting back proves that the industry is anti preservation

Hopefully ubisoft doesn't have anymore private meetings

Thats the spirit

Lobbyists wins, no problem because pirates are immortal, they don't want my money? I can still get those games for free.

But honestly it's probably not going to work they listen to money not normal people and thus is why sometimes going the legal route to stop corruption isn't worth it and have to result in exstreme measures

How do we best make the corrupt scum of the European commission famous?

your goal was always irrelevant bullshit and I hope this embarrassment won't taint video game consumer lobbying efforts entirely

You are impacting capital, capital owns your "elected officials."

Keep fighting the good fight my guy.

Well, don't blame us then.

Ubisoft is in shambles and they have the nerve to lobby against this. 😂

Keep going, Dude.

Keep fighting the good fight!

We are gonna win eventually! 😊

We should promote and give piracy to all Ubisoft makes, and expose their employees too
