Today, 15-year-old Hunter Hayes thought it would be a good idea to submit a false tip about an alleged bomb at University High School. Hunter used the name "Kevin" to send the tip from his school laptop and told deputies he was joking.

This morning, a 29-year-old man showed up with a gun during a school event at New Manchester High School. After he fled from school resource officers, Douglas County deputies were able to track him to a house on Ferncrest Place, where he got into a shootout with deputies, resulting in his death. Nobody else was injured. The GBI is investigating the incident.
