We now have the diabolical situation where 40,000 doctors are competing for just 10,000 training jobs. Without these posts, doctors cannot train to become consultants or GPs. The NHS is actively blocking its own future workforce. At the same time, our pay has been eroded. Even after the most recent deal delivered during a period of double digit inflation, doctors are still around 20% worse off in real terms than in 2008 despite working just as hard, in a system where patients are sicker and more complex than ever before. Many resident doctors carry over £100,000 of student debt and start work as a fully qualified doctor on £18.62 an hour. We are asking for £22.67 an hour for foundation year one doctors for example, phased over time, not even all at once. Despite this, Wes Streeting has recommended another real terms pay cut this April. The jobs crisis and continued pay erosion are why resident doctors took strike action and why we are now reballoting. Resident doctors: return your ballot by 26th January. Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer have removed 1,000 extra NHS specialist training jobs; a decision that means fewer potential consultants and GPs, and potentially longer waits for patients in the future. This not only harms doctors, it harms the public and the NHS as a whole. But this isn’t just about those 1,000 posts. It’s also about the bigger picture and what it symbolises. Doctors’ pay has been cut in real terms for over a decade, and resident doctors are still earning 21% less in real terms than a doctor in 2008. There are now far more doctors than speciality training posts, so thousands of doctors can’t progress in their careers to become specialists even though the NHS desperately needs more of them. Last year around 40,000 doctors applied for about 10,000 specialist training posts. Instead of expanding speciality training posts to tackle waiting lists, the number of potential future specialists is being reduced by this Labour Government. At the same time, during negotiations, the Government reduced the investment that had been discussed and spread it over three years instead. So we’re in a situation where pay is still down in real terms, training bottlenecks are rife across the NHS, and the number of potential future specialists is being reduced. That’s why I’m going out on strike with Resident Doctors.

How to become a millionaire in 24 months if you're starting from zero. I broke this down on stage in front of 4,000 people. Here's the playbook: 1. None of us are special. Housewives of the Taliban Update Since Taliban Supreme Leader Haibatullah Akhundzada still refuses to back down on erasing women’s faces from Afghan national identity cards, I guess it’s time to release more Taliban wives today. I’ve got a bit of history with Haibatullah myself. Back in 2009, the agency kept getting a flood of garbage reporting claiming Mullah Omar was hiding in Haibatullah’s mosque and madrassa outside Quetta. I knew Omar was in Afghanistan, but I still had to waste time running down that false lead. CIA ain’t always glamorous. He preyed on poor families, promising to take their children for an education, only to funnel them into his madrassa-turned–suicide bomber factory. He exploited the most vulnerable, twisted their minds, and sent them out to kill others. That is who he is: a man who built his power base on the shattered lives of children. He did nothing else to become the leader of the Taliban but harm others, and you don’t need more than that to be a terrorist. Justice will come for him, and Haibatullah will burn. Until then, every lie he tells, every woman he silences, and every child he sacrifices will be remembered—because they all deserved the life he and other terrorists like him tried to steal from them. *We will pause our releases for a few hours today to direct energy and prayer toward the hundreds of victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan. The Taliban drove out the best first responders, doctors, and medics, leaving survivors at the mercy of terrorists running an illegitimate regime—one with little ability to govern and no capacity to provide real care or support. Tragically, the Taliban will no doubt find new ways to exploit this disaster for their own gain and at the expense of innocent others.

I just went to the zoo today, saw Punch, and made a donation. Even though it was a weekday and raining, a lot of people were visiting, which really drove home the viral strength once again. As I’ve mentioned before, but to clearly record what I confirmed with the staff today: - They are aware of the donation request from Justin Sun and are proceeding very cautiously. - Today I donated 400,000 yen. It’s a small amount, but I plan to continue donating consistently and build it up over time. - Since the zoo is operated by Ichikawa City, they have to be extremely strict about risk management and hedging. Therefore, this community isn't officially recognized or publicly endorsed by them. It is understood strictly as a voluntary, private community of supporters making donations on our own initiative. - People both in Japan and overseas are increasingly trying to make donations, and from now on the legitimacy / cleanliness of those funds will be checked much more rigorously. - We currently maintain a good relationship with the staff and have communicated multiple times with the section manager. However, if any Punch-related controversy or trouble in the future and is traced back to someone in this community, there is a real risk that future donation activities could become difficult or even impossible.
