Today, I am 30 and saying goodbye to my twenties. As I celebrate this milestone, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey I've experienced during my twenties. The past decade was a period of profound growth, self-discovery, and transformative experiences that shaped me into who I am today. My twenties were filled with many highs and some lows, but through it all, I was resilient and persistent. I faced challenges head-on and learned important lessons along the way that shaped my perspective and enlightened my understanding of life. One of the most significant aspects of my twenties was the journey of taking back my own happiness and self-discovery. I uncovered my passions, strengths, and true purpose. This journey allowed me to embrace my authentic self and my dreams. I learned to respect myself, my time, and my energy more. I realized the importance of setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and surrounding myself with positive individuals in my life. By honoring my needs and valuing my well-being, I have created a solid foundation for personal growth and fulfillment. Part of the process involved removing negative energy and people from my life. I recognized those who didn't genuinely want the best for me. Letting go of toxic relationships allowed me to create the space I wanted for positivity, growth, and healthier connections. Another pivotal moment during my twenties was a career change. Recognizing my desire for alignment between my passion and my profession, I bravely pursued a new path. It was not easy—that decision required courage, determination, and betting on myself. I started small before reaching greater heights, and I embraced that challenge. Eventually, it led me to a career that brings me immense fulfillment and joy. My willingness to embrace change and take calculated risks has set me on a path of not only continued success but also my own goals and personal satisfaction. Amidst all of the experiences, the most precious gifts of my twenties were the arrival of my two beautiful boys. Parenthood has brought immeasurable joy, love, and purpose into my life. This will be a long read, but I truly hope it inspires someone. I only wish I had kept more memories honestly… Today marks one year since I moved into my own home after squatting with a family friend for two years. That period remains one of the greatest favors I have ever received in my life. They didn’t take me in as a stranger they welcomed me as a daughter, treated me as one, and even now, here in Abuja, they are my family. Today, I live in a solid two-bedroom flat in Abuja, fully furnished to my taste. I’m living a life I once only prayed for, eating well, living well all courtesy of design and Web3. This same skill once earned me ₦2,000… ₦5,000. I can never forget messaging almost every contact on my WhatsApp, begging them to let me design for free. I went from business to business around my school area, offering free designs. I even designed my school handbook for free just to put myself out there. With this same skill, I met people I once admired from afar. I was willing to design for free just to earn a tag, a shout-out, and the visibility I desperately needed. There were times I slept in school just to use the school Wi-Fi to watch YouTube tutorials, especially from Mez Graphics. Sleeping in school became a lifestyle and it came at a cost. My health suffered deeply. I went through serious health crises because I couldn’t afford medication. Home was tough. Really tough. While others slept like humans, for four years in school I averaged two hours of sleep daily, juggling academics and survival. My health paid the price. I developed growths in both eyes that now require surgery, and my eyesight deteriorated so badly that I can’t function without my glasses. Yet today, this same skill has elevated my family. From living in a single room with five kids in a rented apartment, to my mum bring a landlord. A woman who used to fall sick frequently now lives healthier, eats whatever she wants, and glows differently. Poverty truly stinks but grace changed our story. The store she owns today? Courtesy of this skill and Web3. Every property I own my store, my home, everything came through design and Web3. This same skill funds my lifestyle. This same skill, backed by God, has elevated me beyond words. I could go on and on… This is me telling someone inspiring someone not to give up on that skill you have, no matter what it is, especially as a creative. I slept on YouTube for years because I couldn’t afford to pay for a single course. I used that knowledge to design for free sometimes for one, two, even three years just to build visibility. Today, I invest as much as ₦2 million yearly into learning., i invest heavily ngl If all you can afford right now is YouTube, be diligent with it. Gonna get sappy on here for a second. Few know how much Tennessee football really means to me. It’s not only the team I grew up cheering for but my Alma mater and the reason why I wanted to be a sports reporter. In 2022 I drove across the country to watch the Vols beat Alabama for the first time in 15 years. I watched in the stands with the two people that made me a VFL— my mom and my dad. I cried real tears and as dumb as it might sound to some, it was a dream come true. Two years later I get a dream job— sports anchor in Knoxville. That already didn’t feel real. This time the third Saturday in October rolled around and another dream came true. I got to watch my favorite team beat Alabama in the house that built me. This time not from the stands as a fan, but from the sidelines as a sports reporter. Even in my wildest dreams, I’m not sure I could’ve drawn this one up. Dreams do come true. Go Vols forever!

I am grateful to Allahu SWA for the life opportunities I’ve enjoyed along with purposeful and needed challenges along the way. To many on this app, I am known for my no BS politics, and to my patients it’s Dr. ALI. My passion has been providing exceptional care for my patients and communities for nearly two decades. We pulled heavy funds together, partnered with a company and built something magnificent. Looking back at that decision and I realized that it's good to have a dream, but it's even better to have friends that can dream with you and see how much greatness can be accomplished together. Our small Estate is now worth heavy 9 figures and climbing daily. Having good friends in this generation is an unfair advantage. The rewards are infinite.

One of my proudest moments. Being flown to South Africa by my brother and kinsman Captain Japheth Okabo aka OJ and Captain Edema Aloysius. I thought I was the coolest Lango South of Karuma kumbe OJ Capt. Aloysius are flying planes. I might need to recalibrate my marking guide for coolest Lango!! Capt Aloysius was the President’s pilot for over 15 years. Amazing men with great experience. Some of my favorite moments running through my head this morning as I try to wrap my head around the fact it’s been 6 months without my friend Charlie. We never know how long we have in this life—thank you for inspiring me to use the time I do have to fight with everything I have for what is good & true & beautiful. TODAY, I am leaving the mining town of Phalaborwa after a WEEK of serious work. This is a small town in Limpopo Province but folks here live LARGE… BIG CARS are everywhere, the latest models. Phalaborwa is like Dorowa in Zimbabwe… The economy here is anchored by Foskor Mine, a Phosphate mine. Phosphate has several uses, key among them is the manufacture of fertilisers. As much as mining companies pay taxes, I think the best way they can boost the local economy is through providing jobs to locals and paying GOOD SALARIES. We should never tolerate Slave Wages for mine workers, and people living in the area should be prioritised…. That model is doing great in most mining communities in South Africa. Well, my job here is done, I came, I saw, and I learnt….. also made friends
