Respectfully, Mr. President, AsifAliZardari I understand the message of coexistence, but “tolerate” is a difficult word for us to hear. We are not a people being tolerated by someone else. We are equal citizens of Pakistan, and this is our home too. Hindus has contributed to Pakistan in every field be it business, education, medicine, law, politics everything. From Justice Rana Bhagwandas, to Dr. Ashok Kumar, Our contribution is not something that needs to be tolerated it is something that deserves to be recognised. A stronger Pakistan is one where minorities are not merely “tolerated,” but genuinely respected as equal Pakistanis.

This is something we Pakistanis must understand, we have a role to play in the region. 14th of August isn’t just for Pakistan’s independence but also a day for Nagas to celebrate their short lived independence. Pakistan was lucky enough to attain independence but many nations still live under the Upper Caste Hindu state. I wish my Pakistani nation as well as the nation of Nagalim a very happy independence day.
