Today at Phoenix Mercury training camp, coach Nate Tibbetts talked about Kahleah Copper and Satou Sabally’s shot selection. Tibbetts refers to the midrange as the “manure strip,” and has said Sabally has done a good job avoiding taking midrange jumpers. #WNBA #ValleyTogether

If Phoenix doesn't do well this year. Tibbetts will be gone. Midrange jumpers are better than blocked layups.

I hope this coach doesn’t turn this into unwatchable hoops. Just seeing players jack up 3’s is going to turn into unwatchable hoops just like the boring NBA during the regular season 🤦🏽‍♀️. He will be gone if this team looks like players jacking up 3’s with no defense 🤦🏽‍♀️

Here's Ayo Dosunmu talking about what he's reading in pick and roll coverage and why he's taking more midrange shots in Minnesota after those were prohibited in Chicago. "In Chicago, midrange shots was really prohibited. It was 3s and layups, no midrange shots unless it's the end of the shot clock. Here, we got Rudy, he's setting big screens. So if you can set up pick and roll, you come off Rudy, you open." Dosunmu took 4 "long" midrange shots in 45 games in Chicago this season before being traded to Minnesota.
