Today, Germany’s three remaining nuclear power stations will be shut down. Burning coal, which already accounts for ~30% of Germany's energy generation will now play a bigger role in the country's energy policy until more sustainable solutions are in place. Here's Elon's view:

The timing of this couldn’t be worse

💯

@DinoDrin Mr.Musk we don’t live in Democracy, 78% German People are against the Shutdown’s !

No one that believes in saving the planet or climate change would even consider shutting down these plants

That is incorrect. Nuclear power plays no role in Germany anyway and we are well on the path to renewable majority. That being said it was a huge mistake to turn away from nuclear in the 80ties and use coal, gas instead. But now that ship has sailed.

I'm German. When I was a child everything was run by coal. The air pollution was a terrible problem. It made people sick, which was the reason to use gas instead. Everything went well. Merkel and Putin had a good mutually honorable and solid deal going for years until the pipeline got blown up.

german dogmatism for „standing on the right side“ ……..was always dangerous and unfortunately still is.
