Today, I asked my first question in the BC Legislature. I asked David Eby about his changing principals and broken promises. Eby promised voters a $1000 Grocery Rebate when BC already faced a staggering $9.4B deficit of his own making. It seems he didn't mean it. #bcpoli

Almost a year ago, I stood up and called for the end of the carbon tax with Bruce Banman — we were the only two Conservatives in BC’s Legislature. At the time, David Eby and the BC NDP called our common sense Conservative Party crazy, and said we hated the environment. The BC NDP championed this broken tax for eight long years, hurting everyday people and families. Then, on the heels of the election and tightening polls, David Eby was told by pollsters that he needed to suddenly dump his deeply held personal beliefs and change his mind for political expediency. The elimination of the carbon tax today is a victory for our whole Caucus, team, and over 10,000 Conservative Party of BC members — but more importantly, the taxpayers of BC. I am so proud of my Conservative Party of BC MLAs who refused to go home until the job was done — every single Conservative MLA fought this fight, even folks who were sick or injured checking in from hospitals and home. When it comes to helping everyday, hardworking people with affordability — common sense Conservatives will continue to lead, and David Eby will continue to follow.

By being the WOKE capital of Canada, BC has rolled out numerous toxic policies that slowly trickle east. Like injection sites. At Environment Committee I asked the CEO of the Major Projects Office, Dawn Farrell, a straight question: Does the BC Premier have a veto on national interest pipeline projects? Her answer: No. Only the Privy Council does. So all the Liberal talk about needing BC’s permission is political theatre. Alberta’s energy belongs to Canadians, not to another Premier and not to Ottawa’s bureaucrats. Common sense: if it’s in the national interest, build it.

David Farley asked his first question in the House of Representatives today. In keeping with the campaign he ran and the interests of Farrer, he asked about water security. It was very deliberate that this was raised with the Defence Minister. The time has long come for us to start viewing water security as a national security issue, not an environmental issue. Well done, David. He promised to be a strong voice for Farrer, and he’s already proving that.
