If there is a Democratic trifecta in 2028—and I think the possibility of that is pretty good—Supreme Court reform has to be on the table. Term limits, at a minimum, and potentially expanding the Court are things that should be seriously considered. We cannot leave in place, without at least a discussion—and I think without substantive reforms being implemented—the Supreme Court as it is presently constituted.

Communism doesn't come from classical liberalism. There's only one thing I wish I had added here looking back on it. Faith. At one point, I come to the point of explaining how securing our inalienable rights secures individualism, but I didn't explain why that matters. Why should we want to be individualists? I came very close to the answer, but it evaded me in the moment. The answer is located in faith. We want to be individualists because only individuals can choose to be righteous (to keep the law and honor the sacred), and only individuals can accept the offer of Grace and thus find renewal in earnest repentance. Faith is trust and confidence in a covenantal belief that if we, as individuals, do our part, good things are sure to come. If we are good, we can be confident there's a value in it. That's faith, and it matters—and it's up to us as individuals to hold if we can. And it's worth holding, especially when it's hardest to hold on to. This is why so many tyrants have hated the Jews for so long. This belief and framework comes into the world uniquely with the Jews, who are ultimately defined by this covenantal relationship and thus will not depart from it when faithful. The Jews stake individualism against it all, and the Christians continue that and expand its reach, thus its gifts. I wish I said it, even though I didn't. It's what makes it matter.
