Today, I visited Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Governor/ Senator from Ogun State who is a major stakeholder in FMC Abeokuta. I thanked him for his donation of the 170 hectares of land the permanent site of our center and the Fed University of Medicine Abeokuta will be, in addittion... to the N100m he donated to the center in the past. We also used the opportunity to discuss the completion of the 180 bed hospital he has donated to our center. Under this board, we will ensure that our FMC becomes more sustainable, put cure over cost and become globally competitive through collaboration and strategic leadership. It is my belief that whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.show more

I met my supervising Minister, H.M Kunle Salako, the Hon Minister of State for Health, and a Powerful Indigene of Ogun State where my FMC is domiciled. In addition to presenting him my Letter of appointment, I had the opportunity to share with him my vision for FMC Abeokuta and how I intend to support the Management in delivering quality Clinical and Healthcare Service to the people. I also met with the Permanent Secretary Health and Chairman House Committee on Health Services. Our center has performed many open has surgeries and has many records we are proud of. B goal is for us to become a Health Institution that can go toe to toe with any private or foreign hospital in care delivery.

1am this morning I paid an unscheduled visit to our Medical Center, disguised, to assess for myself, the true state of the facility especially the A and E/ surgical Wards; without any cosmetic. Whew. While a lot has been achieved in the institution, a lot of work is really needed to turn the center to a model health institution. We are grateful to all the legislators who have donated additional infrastructure to us; but we need a total overhaul of our A & E/ward. The next phase of my external engagement on behalf of the FMC includes meeting with stakeholders from our ministerial leaders to the private sector who can support and partner with us. The government cannot do it alone. May I call on well meaning Nigerians to Please come and adopt some of our buildings and renovate. Come to Macedonia and help us.

This is getting too much, Senator Monday Okpebholo Moses Joel Yamu Edo State Police Command we need to do something about this as soon as possible. The ministry of public safety and security is no longer functional, the governor has refused to appoint a commissioner for the ministry, this is the ministry that controls the command and control center and our emergency call numbers, that ministry is very important so the governor should please pay attention to that ministry. In the absence of the commissioner the permanent secretary of that ministry needs to be active, it’s getting out of hand. We need help in Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo wake up and stay active your excellency.

It was great to be in Kansas City today to place the final beam on the brand-new KU Cancer Center building alongside the leadership of KU Cancer Center, The University of Kansas Health System and University of Kansas. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I have secured $115 million in federal resources to construct and equip this state-of-the-art facility. The center will bring world-class cancer services to the region, creating the very best opportunities for Kansans and Missourians to access cancer treatments and care right here in the Heartland. The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. I stated it clearly in one of my previous posts here that Senator Ibikunle Amosun Sen. Ibikunle Amosun and Senator Gbenga Daniel Gbenga Daniel are two of the most dangerous political actors to underestimate in Ogun State that while Amosun is not known for hiding his intentions, as seen in this video endorsing the Official PDP Nigeria governorship candidate, Gbenga Daniel is a master of political calculation, appearing to move with the APC while he will be silently working relentlessly to strengthen the Official PDP Nigeria and make sure they wins.. Several times, I used this platform to call the attention of those who matter within our great party to the looming danger. Unfortunately, what we are witnessing today is exactly what many of us warned against. I say this without fear or hesitation: Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON must take responsibility for the crisis, division, and growing discontent currently threatening the APC in Ogun State. It is no longer news that powerful interests in Egbaland have openly aligned with the agenda of supporting Hon. Ladi Adebutu. Reports that the Alake of Egbaland and the Egba Council of Obas have endorsed the PDP governorship candidate, coupled with what is coming from this video by Amosun, should serve as a wake-up call to anyone who still believes all is well within the APC. The painful truth is that the strength, visibility and grassroots momentum the APC currently enjoys across Ogun State have been largely sustained by the political influence, acceptability, and relentless efforts of Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI. CON, FCA. Remove Yayi's factor from the equation today and I can boldly beat my chest and say that the APC is nowhere near as formidable on the ground as many would like to believe. History will record that if the APC suffers defeat in the forthcoming governorship election, it will not be because the opposition was too strong. It will be because those entrusted with the leadership of the party failed to unite stakeholders, ignored genuine warnings, alienated loyal party members and allowed personal interests to take precedence over the collective interest of the APC. As someone who understands the political history of Ogun State and the modus operandi of its past governors, I can only say that the signs were visible long ago. Those who chose to ignore them must also be prepared to accept responsibility for the consequences. If Egba has backed Ladi Adebutu, and Ijebu/Remo remains the strongest stronghold of Adebutu and Gbenga Daniel, despite Governor Abiodun being from the district, then what is left for the APC is Yewa, where Yayi comes from, which is even the minority to these two constituencies.. If, as a sitting governor seeking re-election, Governor Abiodun lost almost all the local governments in his senatorial district except one, resulting in the PDP securing eight seats in the State House of Assembly, what can he do differently to help Senator Adeola, who is not even from the constituency wins against these powerful forces that have now become both internal and external forces against the party in Ogun?

We are pleased to announce that the newly completed 250-bed Ogun State Medical Center of Excellence in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta will be commissioned in December 2025. During our recent inspection, we confirmed that the project, originally built but left incomplete by the past administration, has now reached an advanced stage, with exterior works, landscaping, the entrance canopy, gate, and oxygen systems already in place. We have directed the contractors to increase manpower so operations can begin within the next two to three weeks. We are positioning this facility as a “spoke” of the Abuja Medical Center of Excellence, which partners internationally with King’s College Hospital. Once fully completed and handed over to Healthshare Services Limited, the hospital will be managed to world-class standards and become the first point of care for our people. This project had significant structural, civil, and electrical gaps when we assumed office, but through our PPP office, we secured Healthshare as a credible partner and signed an MoU to complete and operate the hospital. When this center opens, it will drastically reduce medical tourism and limit the constant movement of patients from Ogun to Lagos or other institutions. Its location will also serve residents across Ogun, Oyo, Osun, and Ekiti, offering a more convenient and accessible alternative. According to the project managers, the basement, ground floor, radiology, laboratory, and consulting rooms are ready, while the theatre, ICU, and wards on the first floor are being finalized to meet our December commissioning target.
