🇦🇷 Argentine President Javier Milei is escalating Argentina’s claim to the Falkland Islands, threatening tougher sanctions on companies involved in oil projects near the British-controlled archipelago. Milei said “winds of change” favor Argentina after Trump suggested Washington could reconsider its longstanding neutrality in the dispute. His proposed penalties would cover suppliers, shareholders and directors involved in oil exploration, and he pledged new funding for a naval base in the nearest Argentinian territory of Tierra del Fuego.
