Everyone saying, “Ohio State won the playoff, and they were the better team” is completely missing the point. Ohio State lost TWO games to Michigan and Oregon. In the old system, they’re not even playing for a national championship. 2008 USC lost to Oregon State. Did that suddenly mean Oregon State was the better team? 😂 USC finished 12-1, allowed 9.0 POINTS PER GAME, ranked #1 nationally in scoring defense and held opponents to 221.8 yards per game. That defense has a legitimate argument as one of the greatest ever. Give that USC team a 12-team playoff and they would’ve dog-walked everybody. That’s the point: the expanded playoff changed what losing a regular-season game means which made college football so epic every Saturday

Happy 62nd birthday today to Don Majkowski (Don Majkowski). The "Majik Man" spent six seasons in Green Bay, including four as the team's starting QB. Yeah if we miss out on Will Campbell because we won yesterday, that sucks. But this was far from a meaningless win. The last time the Bears beat the Packers was 6-years ago. The last time the Bears beat the Packers at Lambeau was 10-years ago. For Caleb Williams to have a game-winning drive in his rookie season and finally snap both of these streaks, is everything we should want as a Chicago fanbase. Put together the onboards of Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs (plus Christopher Bell's as a bonus) to try and paint a complete picture of what happened between them. Gibbs was unhappy with how Bell was racing him in the middle of three-wide. I THINK Denny was unhappy with Gibbs for the way he was racing both him AND the 20. An excerpt from my new book 'Breaking Point': " On December 30, both of us realised just how traumatised we were when we visited Labadi Beach to hang out. We spotted a lady selling jollof rice, and we decided to get some jollof and chicken. The lady had a little daughter who couldn’t have been more than 4 years old. While waiting for our food a little distance away from them, we spotted 2 Ghanaian policemen walking up the beach toward us, dressed in black and holding AK-47s, just like their Nigerian counterparts. Ralph and I beckoned at the little girl who was playing near us, telling her to see who was coming. Instinctively, we felt a need to warn the innocent little soul that danger was coming, and she should run to her mom for protection. Instead, the little girl looked up, saw the policemen, and skipped joyfully toward them, utterly unafraid and screeching in delight with her full set of milk teeth showing, “Police! Police! Police!” The policemen on their part calmly acknowledged her, returned her smile, and even stopped to play with her for a few moments before continuing on their way. Not a single word was said at that moment, but when Ralph and I looked at each other with our mouths open in utter amazement, nothing needed to be said. It turned out that being mortally terrified of police to the point of using them to scare young children was a uniquely Nigerian experience - one that we were both completely, hopelessly, and maybe permanently marinated in. For everyone else, there was no such conditioning. Apparently, it wasn’t that the world outside was that much better than Nigeria. But it was that much less terrible.
