JUST IN: Today I filed legal action to stop a proposed aluminum smelting complex in Inola that is majority-controlled by an Islamic foreign monarchy, backed by hundreds of millions in taxpayer subsidies and tied to permanent foreign-owned industrial land in Oklahoma. Oklahoma welcomes businesses that want to invest, create jobs and play by the rules. What we should not accept is a massive foreign-controlled industrial project that threatens our land, water, agriculture and power grid. One of the stranger claims I see online is that reducing CO₂ would somehow be “the end of humanity because we need CO2 to breathe.” In reality, the carbon we exhale (not inhale) is part of a short, natural cycle: plants take it in, we eat the plants (or animals that ate them), and we release that carbon back into the air within a year or so. What’s not natural is digging up fossil fuels—carbon that’s been locked underground for millions of years—and releasing it all at once. The presence of leopard families in human-dominated landscapes also underlines the importance of protecting natural habitats and promoting peaceful coexistence. Residents, motorists and visitors are urged to maintain a safe distance and not approach, chase, surround or disturb the animals. People should avoid loud noises, bright lights and following the animals for photographs or videos. The sighting is a privilege, but also a responsibility. We want to help more - but for this we also need your help. The amount of vaccines and medicines and food and anaesthetic we are going to need is immense. So we are opening a fundraiser on our website - - where you can buy a vaccine for just 10 euros and we have increased our Justgiving fundraiser for the same reason. 10 euros is such a tiny price to protect a cat or dog from dangerous viruses.
