Asked by Trevor Phillips: “Would you have banned either of these marches? The Palestine Action one or the Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧 march?” Badenoch was clear: they’re completely different. Muslims are outraged, accusing the leader of the British Conservative Party of Islamophobia after she announced her intention to ban the pro-Hamas hate marches. On October 7, Muslim terrorists from Gaza invaded Israel, murdered 1,200 people while screaming “Allahu Akbar,” raped women, murdered children alive, and kidnapped hundreds more into Gaza. The weekly marches that flooded London afterward were never about peace or humanitarian concern. They were open displays of support for Hamas—the same Hamas that carried out the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. These marches featured jihad and Nazi flags, chants of “Global Intifada,” and deliberate intimidation of local residents. Nick Robinson tried to equate Tommy’s marches with the weekly pro-Palestine protests that feature hate chants, harass visibly Jewish people, target synagogues, and have coincided with serious antisemitic attacks. Kemi wasn’t having it. She rightly pointed out the difference: the Palestine marches involve real harassment and abuse of Jewish people going about their lives. Tommy has always been clear, he’s anti-Islam (the ideology), not anti-Muslim (the people). Criticism of a religion and its doctrines is allowed in this country, and we mustn’t conflate that with attacking individuals. When Nick brought up Tommy’s criminal convictions and claimed Muslims feel threatened by the marches and Christian iconography, Kemi pushed back hard. She refused to accept the deflection, calling out the whataboutism: why does any discussion of antisemitic hatred against Jews instantly turn into “but what about Muslims”? Kemi stood her ground: we can criticise ideas without attacking people, and attacks on Jews are attacks on British Jews, full stop. No moral equivalence, no selective outrage. Tommy’s marches are overwhelmingly peaceful, working-class people of all ages and backgrounds, families included, who are simply fed up with what’s happening to our country. Any trouble usually comes from those determined to shut them down. This is why Kemi resonates. She refuses to play the BBC’s game. Britain needs more of this clarity. Well done, Kemi. 👏🏻

Something you’ll hear at every pro-Israel march and at marches supporting the people of Iran is the national anthem. No matter the country, when Jews, Iranians and their allies gather, they sing the anthem as a sign of respect for the nation they live in and are hosted by. That’s something you will never hear at a pro-Palestinian march. I’m always struck by the respect, love and sense of comradeship at our marches, especially when contrasted with the violence, masked faces, graffiti and desecration of statues honouring our bravest that so often accompany pro-Palestinian protests Therein lies the difference Stop The Hate UK Niyak Ghorbani (نیاک) LilyMoo
