This morning, I conducted an inspection of the Udu Harbour Market to assess ongoing construction work. Satisfied with what is on ground, the contractor has assured me and the Udu people of 10 months completion period, but I gave the contractors 12 months to avoid any delay in the job delivery date. This market is key to the development of trade and commerce along this corridor and I have assured the contractors of prompt payment.

Addressing newsmen after the inspection exercise, I expressed satisfaction with what Setraco Nig. Ltd. is doing on the Trans Warri/Ode Itsekiri Road project. At the Ayakoromor Bridge project, I frowned at the slow pace of work and directed the HCW highway & Urban Roads, the functioning PS of the Ministry of Works, the contractor, the Zonal Engineer, and the Site Engineer to be in my office next week for a follow up meeting on the project.

Today, in line with the second pillar of the More Agenda, which is Opportunities for All, I presented 60- 2025 model of Toyota Landcruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and 5 Toyota Landcruiser SUV to our revered traditional rulers at Government House, Asaba. The gesture is to enable them carry out their functions with greater ease and convenience, bearing in mind that most of them operate in very rural and rugged terrain. It is also a demonstration of appreciation by our administration for their role in ensuring peace and stability in their kingdoms and by extension the state and the country. As a government, we are pleased with the support and cooperation of the traditional rulers in Delta State, reason being that, the peace we largely enjoy in this state is because of their cooperation and collaboration with the government and security agencies. At the ceremony, I thanked the Royal Fathers for their continuous prayers and support.

Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. I was at Aba to inspect a couple of roads that are undergoing rehabilitation. I am happy with the progress of work, particularly at Cemetry Road. The contractor has also taken the initiative to desilt the drainage system, which demonstrates their commitment to ensuring a long-lasting and sustainable road infrastructure. It is worth noting that the rehabilitation efforts extend beyond Cemetry Road, with a total of nine roads currently undergoing partial and comprehensive rehabilitation. All the roads are being handled by reputable companies, including CCECC, Craneburg, and MCC. Regardless of the weather conditions, we remain dedicated to the task of rebuilding Aba for the benefit of our people.

This vital infrastructure project is being executed by the Dangote Group under the Federal Government’s Tax Credit Scheme, and our administration played a significant role in ensuring that this project became a reality for the overall benefit of the good people of Ogun State and other road users. About ten months ago, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and I paid an inspection visit to this strategic corridor, which holds immense significance for Ogun State and Nigeria at large. When completed, it will provide a seamless alternative route for commuters from Sango, Iyana Ipaja, and Itori, eliminating the need to use the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway or pass through Abeokuta to access the Sagamu Interchange.

The 118km reinforced concrete pavement section of the Abuja–Kaduna road project is now 95% completed and fully equipped with solar street lighting. Built to the same durable standard as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, this phase of the project is valued at ₦252 billion, with over 80% of the cost already covered under the leadership of President Tinubu. The section is scheduled for full completion by the first week of May 2026. Work is also progressing steadily on the remaining 164km stretch in Kaduna State, which is being constructed using the same reinforced concrete pavement standard. This phase is valued at ₦502 billion, with 70% of the funding already disbursed. The entire Abuja–Kaduna road project is on track for full completion by December 2026, and will feature comprehensive solar lighting throughout. Here's another proof of how corrupt and wasteful Nigerian politicians are! The Delta state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, organized this multi-million Naira ceremony, as captured in the video, just to announce that he is building a flyover - I mean, an actual ceremony was held to tell the world that the government is constructing an “ordinary flyover.” The flyover, which will be located at Agbor/Uromi junction, is merely 1.3km long and will cost a whopping sum of N59.7 billion (approximately $42 million). Barely a year ago, in 2024, Egypt unveiled a plan to construct a flyover similar to the one Delta state is building, but wider (3 lanes on each side) and arguably will be more aesthetically pleasing. It stretches 1.27km long but costs just about $7.2 million (N10.2 billion). Here in Nigeria, Delta state is expending an outrageous sum of N59.7 billion on a mere 1.3km bridge. How does a flyover of 1.3km cost this exorbitantly? Will it be plated with gold? Here's another proof of how corrupt and wasteful Nigerian politicians are! The Delta state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, organized this multi-million Naira ceremony, as captured in the video, just to announce that he is building a flyover - I mean, an actual ceremony was held to tell the world that the government is constructing an “ordinary flyover.” The flyover, which will be located at Agbor/Uromi junction, is merely 1.3km long and will cost a whopping sum of N59.7 billion (approximately $42 million). Barely a year ago, in 2024, Egypt unveiled a plan to construct a flyover similar to the one Delta state is building, but wider (3 lanes on each side) and arguably will be more aesthetically pleasing. It stretches 1.27km long but costs just about $7.2 million (N10.2 billion). Here in Nigeria, Delta state is expending an outrageous sum of N59.7 billion on a mere 1.3km bridge. How does a flyover of 1.3km cost this exorbitantly? Will it be plated with gold?
