Inimitable and beautiful voice too. Such a huge loss 💔

Years ahead of her time, she performed this at The Palladium. And when I listen to my favourite Carpenters song, This Masquerade, her drums are such a key part. Broke my heart when she died.

oh wow I had no idea this was The Palladium. This Masquerade is my favourite too - one of the few tracks she actually recorded the drums on. She continues to inspire drummers 🥁

Anorexia such a misunderstood illness back then truly a sad loss to music, but her music and talent will live on forever

To me she had the most beautiful voice I've ever heard....truly a voice of an angel 😇 such a sad loss to music

Violet Smith was another drumming pioneer. She sadly passed away a couple of years ago, but she was still a bit of a ⭐️ in this interview, when she was 102 years old!

Totally agree with you, she was absolutely brilliant on the drums and also a singer , such a sad loss really 💙

Such an incredibly talented woman. It's awful just how badly she was treated at the time. She reminds me of Lena Zavaroni, another huge talent that struggled massively and died far too young.

Great drummer, fantastic voice. Even after 40 years her vocals provoke chills and emotions like no other.

What a wonderful voice this lady had,one of a kind.I do remember what a fantastic drummer she was.😄
